I've lived in the Moore Building for the past 7.5 years and haven't got any complaints except them not reopening the Gift Shop after the remodel was completed

My mom did not have a great experience here. While she was not completely innocent and didn’t follow all of the rules, they gave her a 30 day move out window with no notice to the family. This was on December 4 and she had to move by January 4. I tried to ask for an extension since mom had never told me she was getting written up and the manager told me her boss Chandra Vaughn said no because they had to follow protocol. I feel like Chandra only cares about money and not the welfare of the elderly people that live there. I have heard from some of the staff that more than my mom has had this done to them with elderly people not having a plan of where to go next. This policy needs to change because not all elderly people share important information with their families or have families to help them. My other big complaint with this place is mom had to move out on January 4 but was charged the entire months rent. When I called the manager she said that happens but mom would get a refund of the days she didn’t live in the apartment within 10-30 business days. Not all these folks that live in independent living have an extra 1000+ dollars to spare when they are being asked to move out. This policy needs to be changed. Again, most of the staff are great here but I feel like the upper management only care about image and money, not the people who live there.

Good Shepherd has once more treated us to a delightful season with the Caribbean Christmas and all it's warmth, fun and fabulous luncheon. Earlier when I found the Santa bag at my door, I had the excitement of a youngster and when was thrilled to find the great Night Light and other goodies within. Many, many thanks.

I love living here. The people are wonderful, both residents and the staff. My apartment is cozy and has a great view overlooking beautiful, tall pine trees. There are nineteen apartments on my floor and we have become a close family.

Good Shepherd is a great retirement community and place to live. I personally live at the Cove and could not be happier. The managers are the best ever and are everything you could ask for. I have been living here for the last 13 years and don't ever plan on leaving- that should speak volumes for itself. Try coming here! You won't regret it.
