Governor's Bend Retirement & Assisted Living

My mother, Hazel Lance, was a resident of Governor's Bend until she passed. She was never treated like a patient but was always treated like she was part of their family. That is where she wanted to be and I had great peace of mind knowing that she was always cared for by a loving and caring staff. Kimberly and Melissa were her two favorites.

Governor’s Bend was an answer to prayer for my Mom and me. Nine years ago, I visited several facilities in this area. The last place I visited was GB and it was exactly what I was looking for. A small apartment, not just one room, a quiet place in the country, a clean facility, for plus a facility with Christian principles. Mom lived in Assisted Living for about 4 years and then moved to Memory Care for 5 years. We decorated the apartment to look like Mom’s home before she got there. The staff at Governor’s Bend became our family. I was there multiple times a week, not because I had to be but it became Mom’s home for me to visit. When I was traveling, the aides would send me photos of Mom. I was welcome to call at any time to get updates. Mom passed away a few weeks ago on August 6. Mom was under Hospice Care. The last week was hard but the GB staff and Hospice kept Mom comfortable and helped me through the process. The CNAs really care and the nurses are awesome. I know them all by name. The Nursing Director and the Memory Care Activity Director sat with me multiple times. Management was very responsive to everything I requested. I would choose Governor’s Bend all over again.

I wouldn't want my wife in a better place. She is in the Memory Care Unit and they are all so kind and caring for her. So much love there. I go most every day so I know. My wife has since passed away but the fond memories of residents and the wonderful staff will always be with me. I try and continue to visit from time to time. Such a wonderful facility.

Our family was very pleased with the care that our loved one received at Governor’s Bend. As a resident there for over 6 years, we came to know the staff as family and our loved one never once asked to leave. The staff were very attentive. They were professional, yet kind to all the residents. I would highly recommend Governor’s Bend for assisted living care!

I've toured the facility twice, and it is 10x nicer than the assisted living that my mother was in before. She will be moving there ASAP!
