Haven Care - Cottonwood House

This facility, as well as all of the other Haven Care facilities in Albuquerque is owned by an out of state company. I removed my husband for many reasons: poor diet, not being toiletted every two hours, lack of worthwhile recreation, staff working 24-36 hrs at a time, very small tv being turned to drama shows that staff wanted to watch, lack of care (when I visited my husband the staff used me like a sitter while they went to converted garage to talk on phone), staff taking food home, not taking responsibility for falls, arguing with me about my husbands care. When I did talk to the owner by phone I was threatened with my husband being discharged. After finding enough caregivers to help me I. Brought him home. It was four months later when I was called by the owner to “apologize” for his care. When I took my husband home two more of the five residents were being moved due to lack of care. They don’t even deserve a one star for the abuse they inflicted emotionally, mentally and physically to their patients.
