Highlands of Lake Forest Place

⭐️ 1/5 My experience here has been consistently disappointing. The staff are consistently rude, and the way I was treated this visit felt discriminatory. I waited 20 minutes only to be informed that my food was still frozen. On a previous visit, the meal I was served was the saltiest food I’ve ever tasted. Terrible customer service and terrible food — I cannot recommend this restaurant. let’s not forget about how the lobby and elevator smells. 🤢🥴🤮 edit to their reply: im very much sure i went to their bistro in lake forest place when i visited my grandma. cant forget the smell and the rudeness.

Lake Forest place is absolutely lovely if you live in the independent facility. However the 3rd floor of Balmoral, Skilled Nursing is awful. The culture on the 3rd floor is one of blame and denial. The staff is very poorly trained there is a high turnover rate with the staff. There are some very wonderful and caring people who work there but not many. Do not put your loved one in this facility if they need quality care. On top of it, it is one of the most expensive places in the area.

We've had 2 years of experience with Lake Forest Place; a family member who's been in independent living, and their spouse who moved into Balmoral skilled care during this past year. Professionally run, always-spotless facility, and food has been good-to-excellent in all of the restaurants. There was some struggle on execution and staffing during the worst of COVID, but that has improved greatly. Not 5 stars because have had to watch billing closely to make sure everything is ticked-and-tied accurately. So, so many people there - housekeeping, care-giving staff, food service employees are kind, friendly, and delightful. Highly recommended - if & when I choose to live in independent living some day, I hope I have a situation like this!

My mother moved into independent living, and eventually transitioned to the assisted living. It was not an easy process for my mom, but the staff and management could not be more professionals and patient. I am so very grateful for where she is, I could not provide the level of personal service that they provide. We have been in the assisted living facility since before Covid, and their response to this was great. While it was a while before I could see her in person, they did everything they could to keep her engaged in activities. I cannot say enough about how attentive the nurses and caregivers on her floor are.

One of the best decisions we have ever made. We love our cottage and we have made so many new friends here. The activities are wonderful, food is delicious, fitness center offers a great variety of classes and training.
