My mom has been a resident here for over a year. Since the beginning, AnneMary, Erika, Catherine, Tracy, and really most all the staff I've interacted with have been so so kind and helpful. It's not easy assisting a loved one that needs daily help. They have been very informative and understanding. I would and do recommend the Cartersville location to friends. And to everyone at Highlands Senior Living Cartersville, Thank You for looking after my mom like she's a part of your own family!!!

My brother was transferred to Highlands Senior Living after an extended hospital stay, in January. I can now make an assessment. From Admissions and administrative staff, to the nursing & housekeeping staff, every person here has taken excellent care of my brother. Thought he has dementia, he is also under Hospice care from another agency, and the coordination has been seamless. My brother brags on their cooking. He is always clean & dressed, and is in good spirits. The peace of mind, from knowing that he will never be alone, hungry, or isolated again has been a huge weight off my shoulders. This is a blessing!

In the short time my father-in-law has been a resident here, the support our family has received has been truly remarkable. The staff has been compassionate, patient, and incredibly responsive during a very difficult transition. What truly sets this community apart is that it is family-owned, not corporately run… and it shows. The administrator, Annemarie, is fully involved, always available, and has personal experience with dementia/Alzheimer’s, which has made all the difference for our family. We are very new to this disease & we immediately felt supported from day one. We are deeply grateful for the care, professionalism, and genuine compassion.

I had a horrible experience with this facility!! Tracie or Tracy would rather neglect patients care by leaving them soaked in the bed for hours instead of being professional. She didn’t even have wipes to provide to clean patients but trying to kick civilians out of facility she doesn’t even own! Tracie (white heavy set lady ) , I’m not sure what her position is but she’s at the front desk on the weekends. She claim she’s the “supervisor” but she’s very unprofessional. I signed in before knocking on the door. I knocked on the door and no one answered so I look through the glass window & said hi to her and she eventually opened the door with an attitude. She finally opened the door for me and looked at me with a very mean look without a greeting me properly. I began to introduce myself & go to the patients room since she doesn’t know what good customer service is. A couple of minutes later, she storms in the patient’s room HARASSING ME telling me what and what not to do when entering the facility. I proceed to tell her that she did not greet me properly & she looked down on me with a stank look when I walked in. While she was yelling at me, the patient was sleeping so I asked if she was done because I wasn’t going to allow her to keep disrespecting me especially in front of a patient. Where is your professionalism?? You can tell she has no home training, it’s sad. She’s very rude and I would not trust her with patients care there. If she can argue and yell at me in front of patients there’s no telling what she’s capable of doing. She didn’t even have the decency to have a civil conversation with me without the patient being present. She left the room then came back again telling me to leave the premises & did not have an explanation as to why I had to leave when I’ve done absolutely nothing wrong. She did not care that the patient was soaked and hasn’t been changed. When I walked in the patients room, he was soaked and hasn’t been changed in HOURS. Please DO NOT let your loved one stay here if you care about professionalism & great care. Tracie or Tracy is the worst & needs to go back to school and learn the definition of great customer service.

Our family has had a wonderful experience at Highlands! Our loved one has been here for about 11 months and we have been so impressed with the love and compassion provided to all of the residents each and every time we are in the building! The leadership and staff are amazing to work with and always make themselves available when we have questions. It feels very much like a family here, and we are blessed to be a part of it!
