I had to leave this under the Sandy Springs location because there's NOTHING for the Monroe location that Elliott Hollander is abandoning. He owns BOTH, and I want people to be very aware of who they're dealing with if they have their loved ones at his facilities. Monroe Hollander staff and families got an email on March 22 from Elliott, saying he's closing it down by April 30, and everyone needed to be out by 5pm that day. He didn't have the balls to come and speak in person....according to his Facebook page, he was in Charleston at the time at a music festival, then on to Aspen Colorado for a ski adventure....not giving 1 flip about the people who just were seriously affected by his decision. Not much more than 2 weeks later, staff has mostly abandoned ship, and Elliott left ALL the responsibility of helping residents find new homes to Christy. She and Mary have tried their best to care for the residents left, in spite of staff dropping left and right. More recently, Elliott told them it isn't "his problem" that he might not be able to pay them! Families are scrambling to help their loved ones who are left, and some residents don't have family here or are lower income and are stuck with wherever Medicare can send them. Elliott Hollander is a heartless person. He posts pictures of him and his grandmother with the hashtag #respectyourelders and in the meantime, ABANDONS 40+ lower income elders in HIS facility in Monroe, not to mention his staff. Don't do business with this guy. Entrepreneur? Ha.

I was very disappointed with the facility. It did not live up to the advertisement that I saw. I'm very disappointed that there was no call Bell for the for the clients in case they needed help in the bathroom in fact I didn't see any called bills in the rooms. I've been trying to reach the desk at the facility and nobody's answering the phone and I thought it was a 24-hour facility but I'm finding that certain times of the day or night nobody answers the phone. I want to come and visit my sister today but I didn't get anybody to answer the phone to find out if it was okay for me to come and visit my sister.. my sister's been wearing the same clothes for several days which leads me to believe that she hasn't had any help getting a bath. I would hope that the owners of the resident will make sure that these things are looked into so that all these clients can get the help and the care that they are entitled to. I also hope that they will get staff who is concerned and considerate to make sure that the needs of the patients are met respectfully thank you Carolyn Calhoun

My grandmother went to this facility when it was named “Summers Landing.” She went there for 3 years until passing at the age of 100. Her daughter, my mother, went there every day to sit with my grandmother and to visit with the other residents even though she was a single mother with two kids and worked full time! After my grandmother’s passing my mother then started volunteering there for bingo, activities, and friendly visits for those whose families lived far away or worked a lot and couldn’t visit their loved ones. My mother volunteered every day for over 7 years. Then management changed to Hollander. My mother, now 76 years old, has had bouts of very early stages of dementia recently but still remembers doing bingo, loves to socialize with the residents and is VERY capable. However, being that she chooses to keep her home in Buckhead and is on social security, her funds are limited. The management staff recently has said that she has to pay now to go to Hollander every day to the tune of $250 per week. If she doesn’t pay that amount she cannot come to the residence. So, pay to volunteer?!? When the “business of senior living” is so rampant throughout the Buckhead area as well as Georgia and the rest of the U.S., Hollander has a callous business heart, no sense of customer service and no sense of loyalty. The only star in my review goes to New Orleans native activities person and the lovely activities person before her as they have always been cheerful and helpful to the residents.

Excellent community for seniors. Staff really seems to go the extra mile to take care of all there. Attractive and clean facility. Price was a bit less than the competitors I reviewed.

When my father's health started to decline late last year. I was lost in the process of trying to find a safe place that could provide him with the care he so desperately needed. The staff at Hollander was amazing, especially the kind and considerate help from Therese. Although I didn't end up moving my Dad to Atlanta, they helped me so much in providing me with information and resources to help me better understand his dementia diagnosis. I am so thankful for all of their help, and I highly recommend this community to anyone who is looking for exceptional care at a reasonable price.
