HIGHLANDS SENIOR LIVING JEFFERSON

We are so grateful for the care and compassion at Jefferson. From our first tour, we felt welcomed and well informed about what my sister’s daily life would be like. The caregivers and kitchen staff are kind, patient, and go above and beyond to make her feel comfortable and respected. It truly feels like a community, not just a facility.

This place isn’t a good place to send your family members the People that works the office they sell you’ll a story. They under staffed there and the Resident Coordinator like to give residents medicine to other residents that had ran out if they have the same She will give it to the residents. The director even though she use to be a medtech she very vindictive very nasty attitude if something doesn’t go her way . She have ran all her staff off. They just recently had bed bugs in Dec.2025 They doesn’t do no activities all they do is play bingo. It’s sad to say the residents doesn’t get the quality care that they tell you’ll they do , they lie to your face. If its understaffed they the office staff doesn’t help at all . Please go somewhere else.

When we found it necessary to find a new place for our 102-year-old mother to call home and receive the care she needed… we were all the way in Nebraska! We knew it had to be somewhere special. A prayerful Google search led us to Highlands, and from the first call (and many FaceTimes), we felt peace. Katelyn made the long-distance move feel personal and full of heart. Of course, every journey has its ups and downs—but working together with the staff made it possible. When we visited for her 103rd birthday, we were welcomed like family. They threw her a party fit for a queen—mayor and all! While the decision was hard, Highlands has wrapped this chapter in grace, kindness, and Southern charm. She’s not just safe—she’s celebrated. And that has made all the difference. The best of friends and the most wonderful care! We love Highlands Assisted Living!

My husband has been at Highlands (Jefferson) in Memory Care for almost five months, and I have been extremely satisfied. He has been very well taken care of from the beginning, and it comforts me to know that their main focus is safety. I’m very thankful that the employees are approachable, and I feel like they listen to my concerns. I’m blessed to be able to spend a lot of time there with my husband, and I have actually spent the night with him, which comforts me beyond measure. I do, however, have a concern about the turnover of employees, but that isn’t just at Highlands. I’ve learned a lot, and it takes a special person to take care of these residents. If you are searching for a place for your loved one, you will not be disappointed if you choose Highlands in Jefferson.

This is the best place i visited. They are very clean and very updated facility. Amanda Strickland is one of the nicest facilitator's I have met. Terri in the kitchen makes some of the best meals. Thank Fran Hoard the activity director keeps the residents always doing something. Recommend it to anyone looking to retire or need help with family members.
