My aunt was there for several years. The staff were kind but took the quickest options for helping people. Instead of helping her maintain independence they kept her in a wheel chair when she wasn’t in bed. Lost use of her legs.

In the world of care for the elderly, patience, compassion, communication, and kindness are the keys to the kingdom. In our experience, these traits are part of the culture at Kempton of Hermitage. After my father lost his independence due to a series of medical events, and after a very disappointing experience with a nursing home, we needed to find a place that could provide the level of care he needed while also giving him a sense of privacy and independence. The first time we spoke to the staff at Kempton, we thought we might have found the right place. After visiting in person, we knew. There was no sales pitch or dog and pony show, just knowledgeable people with genuine hearts for caring for the elderly. While he was there, we were able to have the peace of mind of knowing that he was safe, cared for, and treated with respect and dignity. From their interactions with him and with other residents (both the ones we witnessed firsthand and the ones my father told us about), we could tell that they were patient, friendly, and respectful with consistency. They accommodated his needs proficiently and communicated clearly when there were problems. He was in good hands for the final year and a half of his life. On behalf of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and entire extended family, I would like to thank Kris, Laura, Linda, Katrina, Janet, and every other talented team member at Kempton who performs such an important but underappreciated job at such a high level. We would absolutely recommend Kempton of Hermitage to any family with a loved one in need of assisted living.

Caring for an elderly parent can be an extremely challenging and stressful time for families. Our family was no different. The decision to move my father to an assisted living facility was not easy. There were many options and the tours began to run together. However, the atmosphere at Kempton was just different. I witnessed interactions between staff and residents that were warm, caring, and authentic. After meeting with Kris (Executive Director) and Kaleigh, I felt even better. However, the closer was Laura Sawyers, the Director of Nursing. She did the in-home assessment of my dad and it was evident the level of expertise but also compassion she had for her residents. I knew he would be okay at Kempton and that she would ensure that he was. Great staff and facility!

The Kempton of Hermitage is absolutely, hands down, the best facility for supporting your loved one when they can no longer care for themselves. They provided an exceptional level of compassion, professionalism, and comfort to my stepmother, who was bedridden and on hospice. From the very first interview, through the ease of move-in, clear billing, and her day-to-day care, every step of the process was handled with kindness and attention to detail. It was incredibly reassuring to know that we were supported during such a difficult and emotional time. The staff consistently went above and beyond to ensure her needs were met, and they always communicated with us openly and respectfully. Their dedication brought us peace of mind when we needed it most. I am truly grateful for the care they provided, and I would highly recommend The Kempton of Hermitage to any family seeking a trustworthy, compassionate assisted-living community for their loved one.

Kempton of Hermitage has been a blessing to our family. When our LO needed more assistance than we could provide in our home, we looked at numerous facilities in Davidson and Wilson counties. Kempton stood out from the moment we walked through the door. The building is very clean, well maintained and the apartments are updated and comfortable. The facility's Executive Director, the Director of Nursing and the nursing staff are courteous and compassionate with the resident's comfort and safety as their main priority. Kempton also has an outstanding Activities Director that offers a wide variety of activities to keep the residents engaged and socialized. The care team is tremendous and takes great care of the residents. The dietary staff prepares nutritious meals and varies the menu to accommodate resident's different preferences. Overall, the facility is well run and puts their residents first.
