My mom moved here in March 2025. She loves the staff and all the attention she’s getting plus she’s made tons of friends since she’s been here! Win-win!

We have been very impressed with the care our mother has received. They provide many activities and opportunities for socializing, the nursing staff is very friendly and attentive, and the administrators are very responsive.

Letting Go Letting go of my house, of moving permanently to Kingston Residence, was something I'd thought would be difficult to do. It was not! I've lived in a beautiful big house, with patios, terraced garden plots, and wonderful views-for 32 years-the first 16 with my husband, and another 16 by myself. I was very attached to that house. But ever since getting Long Covid in January 2023, it had become increasingly difficult to manage there on my own. I acquired walkers, and hired help for a few hours every day. But there were staircases and many small steps, which were hard to negotiate. It was a long distance from the distance from my bedroom to the kitchen, where I had my cat, not to mention my cat. Last June I had surgery. My counselor at Presbyterian recommended Kingston for Respite Care. Peter came to see me. I signed up for a month, thinking after a month I would be able to go home. Towards the end of the month I realized I needed more time here. At some point, the title of the book began to circulate in my brain: "You Can't Go Home Again." I realized that being at home by myself was not feasible, and paying for round-the-clock care there is not possible. Another consideration is was my daughter, sister and some friends, who were worried about me being alone at the house. They would be so relieved to know I was being well cared for at Kingston. Hence, I decided to make the BIG MOVE. The next day I notified Peter of my decision, I told him of what type of apartment I wanted, and to let me know when one was available. That happened quickly-in a few days. It was a great apartment-spacious, recently renovated, facing South and West, and looking into a lovely Courtyard. It took 10 minutes to decide-or was it 5? I said "I'll take it!" Moving into my permanent apartment was easy with the help of the staff here, and my handyman. I have been gradually bringing furniture and other items from my house and acquiring whatever else I need. I am very happy in it, and here at Kingston. The staff are wonderful and some have become friends. Bringing my friend Shoshi here has also helped. She has acclimated easily, and has not mentioned missing all the mice to catch at the house. As my health improves, I am able to participate in more activities here-of which there are many. I especially enjoyed the Fiesta events, concerts by the Elvis impersonator, and happy hours Friday. In 2008, I researched similar facilities for my husband, when I was quite ill & in need of one. I thought then, as I still do now, that Kingston is the best in Santa Fe. Letting go of my house, and moving to Kingston Residence, is once of the best decisions I have ever made.

Kingston has many options to meet the needs of your loved one. They provide nursing services 24hrs/day, a memory care facility along with both independent and assisted living options. They have amazing activities for their residents to enjoy each week and I would strongly consider this option for my family members. Give them a tour, let them show you how they will meet your needs with ease.

My father has been a resident of Kingston for over a year now. Our family has been very happy with the level of care he has received. The nursing staff are very caring and informative. They call if any issues arise or to inform us if he needs anything. The entire staff is well trained, friendly and helpful.
