Our Mother Katherine German has been at Lake George in the independent living apartments. She has been able to maintain her independence with dignity and grace. The help with cleaning cooking and laundry was greatly appreciated. The view of the Lake every morning made Mother feel like she was back home on the farm. They have events during the holidays and family is always welcome. We feel the staff and Roystan Pais treated her as if she was their own parent!

Roystan and his staff are extremely caring and loving. They try to get to know everyone well and have created a genuine family. Every meal is family style around a table and even residence from independent living are invited to join. The cooks try hard to diligently. Create homemade meals, and activities are intermittent for growing holiday. Celebrations are even completed with family invite! Even the groundskeeper will stop and have a conversation with the residence. It is a wonderful place and a true godsend!

Lake George is truly one of a kind. I had the incredible opportunity to complete my occupational therapy doctoral capstone project here, and for the first time I was able to experience what true quality care looks like in a senior living facility. Roystan Pais, the owner of Lake George, goes above and beyond for each of the residents, and the other staff members treat each resident like family. I got to see first hand how the “small home community” style of senior living facilities truly impacts the residents quality of life in a positive way. As an occupational therapist focused specifically on the geriatric population, I could not recommend this facility more for the aging population in the Columbia, MO area.

My 95 year old Mother was determined to stay in her house for as long as she could. After a series of falls and mishaps, she agreed to give living at Lake George a try. I got a call from her shortly after she moved there saying she was sitting on the porch with some other residents watching the geese land on the lake and she was glad she made the move. The staff and residents at Lake George could not have made her feel more welcome. They gave her the kind of personalized attention that she never would have received in one of the larger assisted living places we had visited. On one visit to her doctor, another woman in the waiting room who was faced with no longer being able to stay in her home expressed concern about her situation, and my mother said; “you should come to Lake George…you’ll love it there.” It was such a relief to find a place where she was happy and I knew she was being well cared for by a competent and compassionate staff. I could not recommend Lake George more highly. John Sims Sent from my iPhone
