My mother lived at Lakewood before having to move to River Oaks. The staff was wonderful and they cared for her and the other residents so well. I would recommend them for your loved one.

My dad moved in December 11th. He fell in their lobby about a week after he was there. There’s never any attendance around to be seen the shoulder was broken, but he was OK. He just needed a little extra help. Nobody host his shoulder. There was a wound on his elbow that no one took care of. I left my dad on December 22. I had been staying with him every night for my brother was staying, he was supposed to be checked every 2 to 3 hours risk of leaving. That never happened when I went back on the 24th. My father was incoherent. He had eaten anything. His breakfast was still on the table in his room. He was soiled from the night before , just sitting there medicine was on his nightstand not taken Eden since the day before or taken any medicine that he was supposed to. After I got him to eat some food that day he was getting a little bit better more coherent. He just said he was in severe pain. when he had called for help that evening, the girl came up and tried to pull them up by his broken shoulder, pulled his arm out of the sling which it was supposed to stay in that position. That was his room on his elbow, hanging around his wrist, the room was wide open. he was not changed. He still had soiled clothes from the night before. When I arrived and employee saw me that’s when they went up to his room to the system and changing clothes have been soiled in several times you could tell. The night of the 24th he had eaten and he seemed like he was getting better, after having some food and his medicine that I had to find from Nurse, she had no idea he was supposed to be getting any medicine for the pain of his broken shoulder. My father died the next day, 25 December from what I saw staying there every night with my father except for one night the night he was not taking care of at all. The management seem clueless about procedures. I came in and out of the place at all times 12 AM 1 AM 3 AM the doors never locked never any attendance about my coming and going the manager said she thought that they locked it , the medicine room was left unlocked. I walked in there looking for my dad‘s medicine. No one was in there the nurses office unattended and unlocked. The employees complained about having to go up to the rooms when the resident rang their bell only if they were having visitors, that’s when they had to go to the rooms otherwise they didn’t have to. That’s what she told me , I could hear the attendant yelling at the residence hey you what kind of salad dressing you want and then the dressing would be tossed at them my father my father was falling down to the ground and myself in the attendant. We’re not strong enough to get them back in his chair called a male representative. That was the therapist very healthy young strong gentleman said no he wouldn’t help us call an ambulance so my dad laid there on the floor until the ambulance came just into the chair. Only attendance would assist my father to go to the restroom, they were just let them go and he would drop down. I could see in his eyes, the fear on the left was even further if it had been up to me and my dad would’ve never been there nor weed he have stayed there. The facilities entertainment coordinator never even spoke didn’t even say hello. The employees complained about being tired. There was no management on duty the day my dad passed away , no one was in charge. The manager took the day off. They had Nurse was gone. He just sat there and within 15 to 20 minutes just passed away on Christmas Day December 25, 2024 if anyone asks me if they would send their parents there no absolutely not.
