I visited Lia’s Personal Care Home today in Buford Georgia. I was so impressed because it is so clean and spacious. The residents appeared to be very well taken care of and Happy. It is a lovely home with very nice, clean and attractive furnishings with many windows. I was so happy to be there as a provider of activities and music because I knew that Leah‘s residence were truly being cared for at the highest level. You can tell that she loves what she does

They sell you one thing, but the true performance is revealed when you're not there. The food is subpar, consisting primarily of canned goods and processed items for the daily meals. While staff will get requested items, the overall menu remains simple and inadequate. Although the home is clean and safe, that's just a mask for the underlying issues. The conniving attitude of the owner, Lia, is the root cause of the high staff turnover rate. While this place is still a better choice than a traditional nursing home, you'd be better off having home hospice assisted care (provided by Medicare, who comes 1-3 times per week) at your own home. Save your money. If you need more help other than Medicare personnel, hire 8-24 hour home health care instead. It will save you money, time, and peace of mind in the long run. If you decide on this place, I'd advise getting a video monitoring system to stay informed. Best of luck folks. Blessings

My wife will begin her Sixth year since dementia diagnosis tomorrow (9/30/20). I had reached the limit of my ability to care for her at home. Lia’s Personal Home Care has been a great resource. As my daughter said, “They take care of her so you can just be her husband again.” There’s a lot of truth in that.

After a years-long journey through senior-living options including independent living, assisted living, and memory care, my wife and I lost hope that truly good care was possible for her mother, who was living with dementia. At each place, we had to constantly monitor her (and her caregivers) to ensure that she received even basic care. We resigned ourselves to constantly checking on her and her care. Then we found Lia's Personal Care Home, and it was a completely different experience. The long-tenure caregivers there got to know my mother-in-law as an individual. They learned her preferences, her sense of humor, and what made her happy; discovering things we didn't even know. They learned what she would eat when her appetite was low and found ways to sneak in extra nutrition and hydration. They were our partners in her care and would communicate with us about everything and offered helpful ideas when needed. Their attention to detail meant that when she was sick or out of sorts, they noticed immediately and acted quickly. We had a camera at previous facilities just to ensure she was safe, but at Lia's, the camera showed us something else: caregivers giving her hugs, making her laugh, and truly connecting with her. The basics were also well covered. Lia's is always clean. The food is good, healthy, and flexible for individual needs. The caregivers are competent and attentive. They partner with the also-great Agape Hospice which creates a smooth transition when it's time. We were often told by others in the medical and elder-care industries that Lia's is a great place compared to others they knew of or worked in. My mother-in-law's death was quick and unexpected, but it gives our family great peace to know that she was in a place where she felt at home and truly cared for. For anyone looking for a place for their loved one at the end of their life, we will always recommend a personal care home over larger facilities, and we hope all families are lucky enough to find a place as terrific as Lia's.

Prior to moving my mom into Lia’s, she had been in and out of rehab facilities and hospitals for four months. It was exhausting and required my constant attention to make sure she was being taken care of. Once mom arrived at Lia's, I could feel the stress begin to lessen dramatically. Even though I was there a lot, I knew that if I missed a day or two, mom was being well cared for because of the phenomenal attention from Lia, Alex, Moni and the other caregivers. They truly care! They are kind, incredibly compassionate, and loving. Mom was always clean, the home smelled great, and the atmosphere was always positive. It’s truly a home. The ratio of caregiver to resident is great too—something that’s very difficult to find. Mom passed away within a month of moving into Lia’s home, but I’m so thankful that her final days were spent there. Alex, Moni, and Lia were incredibly kind to my family and treated us with the utmost tenderness during an incredibly difficult season. I will forever be grateful for them. I can’t recommend them enough!
