McMinnville Boarding Home for the Elderly

It was clean. The staff was nice My sister seems happy & tries to help the other patients. It is the best for her situation.

Like anywhere health care wise, this place has some good workers, and some not so good workers. We had no choice at the time to put my mother in law in here, due to things going on in our life. Due to this, and living about an hour and fiftern minutes away, we didn’t get to see her often. When we did see her, she would beg for us to get her out of there. She told us horrible stories, but she tends to dramatize things so I won’t repeat them. Our life finally got better, and we got her out of there, and she is so happy to be with us. There is one person she misses, and that’s Adam. She really likes him. She speaks very highly of him. There is another one there named Pam that she has told us several things about. I’m thinking Pam should take a break, because she is either just a hateful person, or she is burnt out. I spent time with several of the residents there, and they all say the same things about Pam. Pam, if you hate your job so much, look for another one. Your making the residents miserable. There last few years on this earth, they deserve to feel special. I have worked in healthcare all of my life, so I know how challenging it can be at times, but they deserve to be surrounded by happy people. I am just thankful we was able to bring my mother in law home where we can spoil her, and make her days special. The facility seems to be kept clean. The lunches provided, smelled, and looked really good. Rooms are really small, and there is 2 to a room, but kept clean. There doesn’t seem to be many activities going on, possibly because of there being not enough room. She seemed to be taken care of, so I didn’t worry so much about that. She did tell me that we was talked about. We only have one vehicle, that’s on its last leg so when we would tell her we would “try” to come see her, she took it as we would. The last days she was there apparently the staff told her we wouldn’t show up because we would lie to her all the time about coming. I take no offense to this. I just pray for these people. This is why God says don’t judge, because you don’t know my husband, and i’s story, or that we said “try”. All in all I gave them 4 stars, just for the ones that was good to her, meals, and facility. The good ones shouldn’t have to pay for what the bad ones say , or do. Thank you for taking care of our mother while we couldn’t.
