MERRYVALE ASSISTED LIVING

After a complicated year of navigating care for both parents, I can say that Merryvale has mostly a caring staff and truly cares for the residents. There is no perfection in the highly complicated process of taking care of many residents with many different types of needs, however; it can be attempted with a smile, and that is what I have found here. When I have encountered an issue, it has been handled. I am not concerned with the greatest decor or the most advanced amenities. This facility is lovely, but I was more concerned with the staff. Many look for the newest and brightest building, but what I am most concerned with is that residents are respected, given grace, and feel that others genuinely care for them, and this is what I see here. My parents’ apartment is kept clean, they are able to have pets, they are able to make their place a home in most anyway they see fit. I feel the staff and administrators are very accessible, and they truly listen when there are concerns. If you are new to this process, know that it takes time to learn the intricacies of each person, so the staff tries to do this. The activities “ladies” have been wonderful. The staff always makes sure the residents know what is scheduled and what is going on each day and prompts those that need it. They greet residents and visitors by name, which I love. I have found less turnover with caregivers than I anticipated, so that has been great as well. Many of the administrative staff and head nurses have been in staff for years, which speaks volumes to me. I am highly involved in my parent’s care, and I always advise everyone else to do the same, but because of my involvement, I can say I can truly stand by my opinion here. I rarely give reviews and I never give glorified praise, so these are my true thoughts. Prayers and good thoughts to all who are having to make truly heart wrenching decisions about those that they love most!

We had the good fortune of meeting much of the Merryvale managing staff at a corporate meeting in Connecticut. Their energy is ceaselessly positive and infectious. A team that always has fun and gets the job done! We were delighted to work with them.

Merryvale has consistently been a beacon of comfort and security to seniors and their families looking for assisted living in the Covington Ga area. Their knowledge, compassion, and dedication in the senior living industry is exceptional. I would entrust them with the care of my family.

My husband was at Merryvale for approximately a month. Initial meeting with all concerned made me feel extremely comfortable with leaving my husband in their care. Their motto - when you’re here, you’re home! NOT!! My husband was in Memory Care and for the short time being there, he was not cared for at all with how I was told he would be. As far as I’m concerned, there was only one nurse in Memory Care that CARED about him. I could give you several instances, but I won’t. The only thing I will say, if you are thinking about a facility for your loved one DO NOT consider Merryvale. They will be happy to take your money and that is where the CARING ends. Thank u for your reply, but I feel my assessment of Merryvale is spot on. Lots of things need to change in order for the human beings in their care are taken care of per your Mission Statey

My mother has been a resident of Merryvale for almost a year. She was a resident of another facility for 3 yrs prior to moving to Merryvale. My brother and I are much happier with how she is interacting and how she is treated now than we were before. We have recommended Merryvale to several people for their loved ones. The staff is very attentive and we get monthly call to discuss our mother and ask if we have any concerns.
