I am giving 5 stars for the house staff. My Mom lived at New Day for 2 months before passing away. There were some bumps in the road, but the staff mostly took heart-centered care of my Mom, and I would recommend this home to others based on that. The issues I had were with the owner. When I met with him to sign the paperwork for my Mom to move there, he told me I had to sign a release for them to use her photo in their ads and on social media, even though I was adamantly opposed. He told me that some other families felt the same way I did but that he doesn’t “have time to figure out who agrees to the use of their picture” even though there are only a maximum of 11 residents in the home. I feel this policy shows a lack of respect for resident & family rights. Also, her rent went up $1200 in one month with no notice to me. When I spoke with him about it, he said I should have known it was going up because her care needs had increased. I did know her care needs had increased because I was there almost every day but I did not know her rent would go up that much because no one told me. He then told me “it doesn’t matter because she won’t be here that long” because she was on hospice. He has an excellent staff but his own people skills, in my experience, are sorely lacking.

Our mom spent her final years living at New Day Cottages - Turner House. She had Alzheimer's and we were looking for more of a "home" like care facility where she could get the care she needed, without the feeling of a big care facility. Turner House was a great fit. Mom loved it from day one, loved the facility, loved the food, loved the activities, but most of all loved the people she lived with, and the people who took care of her. Maura, Bev, Jen, and others did an amazing job. We could not have asked for a better place for mom to live and spend her final years. The staff there also was always very accommodating to our family to ensure we always knew what was going on, and made sure we could see our mom when we needed to. Maura, you do an absolutely amazing job! Thank You!

Carol Bliss - My mother was a resident of New Day Cottages at Turner for a little over 2 years. The staff are phenomenal and treat the residents as if they are their own family member. At the end of her life, Maura, the house manager came to the hospital to visit Mom and upon hearing she was going under Hospice care insisted Mom was to go "Home" and they would take care of her. At that stage of her life she required far more care and they were wonderful to her. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for exceptional assisted living for their loved one.

My mother in law moved here several months ago after an unsuccessful transition to a large assisted living facility. Living at New Day Cottages has been a life saver for her and has exceeded our expectations. Not only is the environment beautiful and well maintained, but the staff is consistent, caring and knows each individual residing in the home and their needs. Every meal is home made and staff accommodates each person's requests. I could not have asked for a better place for my mother in law to reside! This place was a dream come true for our family. The small group home is such a welcome approach as it allows our loved ones, who can no longer reside on their own, to be treated with respect, dignity and most important treated like family at New Day Cottages.

My mom has been living at New Day Cottages for 4 years now. It's homey, small, and personal, so much more like a family than some of those large places that feel like a hotel. The personal attention she gets is fabulous and the staff genuinely care about her. She's not just another resident, and we like that! She may not be able to order from a menu like in a large facility, but the warm and care more than make up for it.
