Working thru an agency & communicated a hr prior that I woke up sick. They put me down as a DNR(do not return) . Rude staff except receptionist & security!

Very good first impression of facilities. Haven’t been in the Long Term care section yet. But hopeful. A note to family caregivers, please be involved in the care of your loved one. Do the most you can to make your family member happy and healthy. I once gave my grandmother a bath at the facility where she was staying. If you see something that needs attention, by all means take it to the administration, but please remember to lend a helping hand as well.

There is a lot of hype about Norwood Crossing but that is only for the newer Assisted Living section which those are most of the pictures shown in all the brochures and on the web-NOT for the skilled section. My father with dementia fractured his hip and needed short term rehab care. We chose Norwood Crossing because it is close to our home and the Norwood Park area apparently has a great reputation. What a disappointment! The rooms are so dirty and outdated, old fans that plug into the walls, dirty and old bedside tables, and the dining area looks like a prison dining hall. We asked for a private room several times but no one ever got back to us regarding that issue. The units are not well organized and there is very little communication to families. My father had a scheduled ortho appointment and they forgot to arrange transportation but they failed to tell me. I was waiting at the doctor’s office for over an hour and he never showed. When I called the facility, no one knew his whereabouts. I ran to Norwood Crossing and fortunately, I found him in the dining room, but for a period of time he was unaccounted for as well as, he missed his doctor’s appointment. His appointment was marked as a “no show” but rescheduled two days later. When my father arrived from the facility to his appointment two days later, he was completely disheveled. He had no undershirt underneath his shirt, he had walking shoes but no socks, his hair was not brushed and his pants were wrinkled- So unacceptable! Also, I brought in two sweaters and a 6 pack of socks to the front desk to be labeled and they went “missing”. When my father was first admitted everyone is so helpful and kind but once your loved one is there more than a week, good luck getting in touch with anyone or getting any help. I regret putting my father through two weeks at that facility, but fortunately, had him transferred to another facility. I would never recommend Norwood Crossing to anyone. If anything, I would warn them to stay away.

So extremely disappointed in this entire facility, I thought being in a prominent neighborhood as Norwood park, this place definitely doesn't live up to the neighborhood expectations. My poor disabled elderly step father has been robbed in his room several times, verbally abused by staff and when we complain the staff says it's an outside "agency" they hire. The rooms are filthy, the nurses have verbal altercations amoungst eachother in halls. This whole place is disorderly and digusting. Currently looking for a new location for him. New residents beware this is not the place for loved ones. Two stars because there are 2 nurses who care for him and do their jobs with empathy and respect.

A very unique place for retirement. The staff here is Simply Amazing Juan Terrence luke Mike and as for management Debbie is amazing the nicest person I've ever met.
