OAK POINTE OF MARYVILLE, A VIVA SENIOR LIVING COMMUNITY

Our grandmother is a resident at Oak Point Retirement Community, and we are incredibly grateful for the care she receives, especially in the memory care wing. She is well cared for, safe, and happy. Maree with management is always eager to help with paperwork and questions, making the process so much easier for our family. The activity professionals are friendly, engaging, and truly connect with the residents. Kim, the head nurse and facility manager, is amazing—always “on it,” communicating clearly with our family, and taking excellent care of all the residents. We feel very lucky to have found Oak Point and are thankful for the compassionate, dedicated staff.

Hanna Danner is one of the best Activities Directors around! She is a genuine and kind person that gets to know the residents and truly cares about their well being. I am so impressed with how many hats she wears! She was not only planning activities, but mentoring two student interns from NWMSU (they’re great, too!), facilitating the resident’s meeting, and leading a fun game of Boggle (before and after pics below). Thank you for all the bus trips, spa days, and everything in between that you do, Hanna! You are appreciated! 5 ⭐️’s are for Hanna!

Oak Point- I was greeted at the door with a friendly hello. I feel the place was clean, friendly, and fresh. On my tour, I was able to see both empty rooms, and rooms ready for use. The memory care unit felt secure for safety, yet inviting at the same time. A group of ladies were waiting around for meal time. Music was playing and an old song was on. The ladies joined and were singing along. It looked relaxed and pleasant. I enjoyed the tour, and have no problem going there, nor as a place for my husband. Thankful to see a place like Oak Point!

Our mother has been in Oak Pointe since 2019. She started in an assisted living apartment and is now in the menory care unit. We've gone through 3 directors, 4 + head nurses, and countless staff. Most recently, the entire nursing staff has turned over. There were a lot of staff that truly cared about the residents and we now feel like mom is a number and revenue. Kara, Hannah and Stephanie are wonderful!! We appreciate all they are doing, but the facility is nothing like it was in 2019. We were so sad leaving mom today and will look for alternatives.

In July of 2019, we moved my mother into Oak Pointe of Maryville after she had lived a number of years at a facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. We were very impressed with Oak Pointe from the very beginning. The management and staff have always been very professional and pleasant from the time we first visited for a tour through the present time, 18 months after mom moved in. After she moved in, she had an emergency medical situation which turned into a hospitalization and an operation for her. The medical staff did a wonderful job working with her and with her family during that time and they were a tremendous help when she was finished with rehabilitation and ready to return to her room. A year ago, mom had to be transferred to an apartment in the memory care section of the facility and the transition was very smooth and painless for her. The memory care area is also one of the best facilities of its kind I have seen. Finally during the pandemic, the facility has communicated in a very timely manner about any issues associated with testing, visitation or infections. They have also been very proactive about helping to arrange video chats, facility visits and community parades for the benefit of the residents during the time of the pandemic. This is all very comforting in a time when we are most concerned about the well-being of our parents. Every time I have ever visited or called Oak Pointe, the staff has impressed me with their positive attitude and their sincere caring for their residents. I am so happy we made the decision for mom to live at Oak Pointe. I would highly recommend it to anyone else considering a move there.
