We had been trying to help my elderly aunt find an affordable and comfortable assisted living home for quite a while. We came across The Oaks Habersham, which we toured earlier this year, and The Oaks Pooler, which we recently visited. While my aunt ultimately didn’t become a resident of either location, we have only high praise for Robert and Alan, two of The Oaks’ representatives and their staff members. We would have loved for my aunt to live at either location; however, due to extenuating personal circumstances which occurred at the last moment, we couldn’t move forward. Both Alan and Robert have been the exceptionally kind, professional, patient, caring, gracious and accommodating during this whole time. When we toured their respective facilities there was a warm and inviting atmosphere, the facilities were clean, fresh smelling, and beautifully decorated. Additionally, the staff and residents interacted like a family. Robert and Alan greeted their residents by name. Most of all, the residents were cheerful, engaged, and hopeful. Had our circumstances been different we would have definitely moved forward with placing my aunt there. I would highly recommend The Oaks Habersham or Pooler to anyone who is seeking a home away from home for themselves or their loved ones. Most sincerely, Les & Jan C.

It is a beautiful place to place your love ones. Allen represents Oaks of Pooler with such love of the place he cares so much of. He really makes you feel hoe safe it is there.

My concern is not so much my sister, but some of the other residents without family around as much as we are. A main concern is a few people who cannot seem to roll their wheelchairs to the dining room. I know many times no staff member checks on them. I realize everywhere is short staffed, but the residents should not suffer because you are short staffed. Pay more, hire upscale workers! I appreciate everything you do for my family because many times recently I’ve had to yell to staff for help.

The caregiving at the Oaks at Pooler is exceptional. They have independent living with assistance as well as a memory care unit, fully staffed with caring and supportive attendants. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and I can’t say enough about how much the staff takes an interest in each and every resident. I recommend them all the time tofriends who are looking for this level of care for their family members and will continue to do so.

I just want to say what a Godsend this place has been to me and my Dad. My dad is in the Horizons Memory Care wing and the staff has been amazing. He was previously "asked to leave" another local Memory Care facility due to behavior problems associated with Sundowners after only a month. I was at my wits end. When I talked to the staff at The Oaks about what was going on they assured me that it was not anything they had not seen in other Alzheimer's patients and they would work with him. Their goal is to make sure that this is the last place he would have to be moved to and could live out his life without disruption of moving to a nursing facility. Everyone there has gone out of their way to learn about his life prior to Alzheimer's so they can better adapt his activities to things he likes to do. You can tell how truly caring they are and the genuine concern and care they give my dad. The interaction of the staff with all the patients is wonderful. They are very patient and treat everyone with respect. Dad has been there 3 months now. It took me a little while to relax and realize that they have this under control but it is an amazing feeling to know that when I cannot be there I do not have to worry about him. I could go on and on but for those looking for a place to put a loved one when the tough decision comes I would recommend visiting the Oaks. When you start looking do your homework and make sure that wherever you go there is enough staff and that they are trained well. A place can look great but not have the proper care and staff to take care of your loved one. The Oaks has both.
