My Dad is very content at Oakwood, and we are very happy with the level of care they provide. The Wellness Director, RJ, is always available to answer my questions and quickly attend to any special needs he has.

It’s never an easy decision. But Finding a place that doesn’t make you feel guilty for needing the assistance, or a place that feels more like a hotel than AL, is priceless! Oakwood has been completely unexpected. Mr. Russell answered my panicked call and has done everything to make my brothers move in seamless and dare I say pleasant. When have you walked the halls of an AL and every staff member looks you in the face and says hello? Maintenance has been there when they said and contacted me if they could not finish the project. Medical staff who listen? People actually doing what they said they would do and welcoming your input? Walk in the door- you will be impressed!

I've been utilizing Oakwood Senior Living for almost 8 years for my mother-in-law and must say that the management in my opinion is excellent. They have always been willing to work with us to provide the perfect care which we all ultimately want for our family members. Jody the Director of this facility and RJ Russell especially come to mind as caring and compassionate people who go the extra mile to make sure that care and attention is accomplished. It's always a difficult situation to put a loved one in a care facility as there's always the concern that you're not doing the right thing, however in the case of Oakwood Senior living, it is our experience that we made a good decision.

My mother stayed here for a respite stay and I must say that I can’t say enough wonderful things about the Maintenance Director and the entire Care staff. The Maintenance Director is truly exceptional—always professional, responsive, and proactive. Issues are addressed quickly and thoroughly, often before they even become problems. It’s clear they take immense pride in their work and in keeping the environment safe, comfortable, and well-maintained. The Care staff are equally outstanding. They are compassionate, attentive, and consistently go above and beyond to ensure everyone feels respected, supported, and genuinely cared for. Their kindness, patience, and dedication show in every interaction. Together, the Maintenance and Care teams create a warm, dependable, and welcoming environment, and their hard work does not go unnoticed. I am incredibly grateful for everything they do and highly recommend this team without hesitation.

I visited my mother after reading the review about residents being starved. Please check on your loved ones at this place. The entire building smells and as a correctional officer I’ve seen better food in prison served to inmates. I was there for four hours and didn’t see a caregiver one time.
