I have had the opportunity to spend a great deal of time in several assisted living communities in the northland and I must say Oxford Grand stands out as one of the best. Finding the right assisted-living community for a loved one can feel overwhelming. From the moment I first walk through the doors, I am met with genuine warmth, professionalism, and a clear commitment to resident well-being. The staff truly knows each resident—their routines, preferences, and what makes them feel safe and comfortable. It’s clear they take pride in creating a supportive environment, not just providing care tasks. The community itself is clean, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed. It strikes the perfect balance between safety and independence, allowing residents to enjoy daily routines and activities that give them purpose and joy. The dining experience is wonderful, with meals that are both nutritious and appealing, and the activity program keeps residents engaged.

I truly wanted this to be the right place for my mother, and I spent months working collaboratively with on-site staff and corporate leadership to address ongoing concerns. Unfortunately, the issues were systemic and did not improve over time. We experienced repeated communication breakdowns related to medical care, medications, and basic coordination. Information from different staff members often conflicted, and follow-up to urgent questions routinely took days rather than hours. More concerning were issues related to health, safety, and dignity. After water intrusion in my mother’s room, professional mold remediation was not completed for approximately two weeks, despite the risks this presents for elderly residents. During that time, there was no clear communication about mitigation or next steps. Staffing and response times were also a serious concern. There were multiple instances where my mother was left waiting on the toilet for extended periods after activating her call pendant. In our experience, only a small number of aides consistently responded, while others were frequently unavailable. This is not a matter of convenience — it directly impacts resident dignity and safety. I escalated concerns appropriately and worked directly with both the COO and the CEO. Despite this, there was no meaningful improvement. At one point, senior leadership suggested that “maybe your mom needs to leave,” rather than addressing the ongoing issues. That comment made it clear that advocacy was being treated as a problem instead of a partnership. Assisted living depends on trust, communication, and accountability. When legitimate concerns about care, staffing, and safety are minimized or deflected, trust erodes quickly. I’m sharing this so other families know to ask detailed questions, document everything, and pay close attention to how concerns are handled over time.

A clean, well maintained memory care facility that took very good care of my wife for two years. The nurses were very kind, gentle, and took excellent care of every need my wife had. I was very satisfied with the care given. Top notch nurses !!

My mom absolutely loves living here. She loves the food, she loves her apartment, the outdoor spaces, the activities, but mostly she loves the staff. “Everyone is so nice!” Yesterday, she texted me to say they came around to give out ice cream! This is a beautiful place- physically and emotionally. The residents are happy because the staff treats them well. We are so happy we found Oxford Grand for our mom.

Reviewing the intake process and what I've seen in 2 days of visits/ move in to memory care: friendly, engaging, upbeat, kind staff. Multiple quality activities for residents to participate in. Esthetically pleasing setting/ nice, quality decor. Helpful and welcoming intake process with Jamie. All staff have been warm and welcoming, kind and empathetic. Commons rooms are available which can be reserved, free of charge, for resident's family gathering. Seems clean and tidy, able to find staff readily and get questions answered easily.
