Wow! A special thank you to all the staff for the outstanding Holiday Party held this evening at Peregrine Onondaga. It was festive, classy and entertaining! Most of all, when looking around the room I saw the residents really enjoying themselves which was the most important outcome. Our family thanks you and wishes everyone a Merry Christmas!

Our family member had to be placed in memory care when her assisted living facility declared they could not provide the level of care she needed. Within 3 months, she had fallen out of bed four times. While at Peregrine, a fall caused a broken hip. The staff knew she was a fall risk, and yet there was no evidence of any precautions. One time, there were multiple skin tears after a fall, and the staff said we had to appoint a family member to serve as back-up in case they could not get the dressings changed as per doctor's orders. While she was in the hospital following hip replacement surgery, one of us went to her room to get some things she needed. The door was locked, but imagine our shock when a staff member was found asleep IN HER BED! The staffer had used a passkey to enter the room and take a nap. When it was determined that our family member could not return to Peregrine, we cleaned out her room and discovered that a quilt that was made for her was missing. Nobody knew nothing. And there was no initiative to try to find the quilt either. Overall: Sloppy care that resulted in serious injury. Seniors have died because of that kind of procedure. Staff using patient beds to nap. Theft of personal belongings. Inadequate staffing to provide wound care even though even any family member would be deemed competent to act as back-up when they couldn't do the dressing changes. Thankfully, the new facility is taking much better care of her.

Peregrine Onondaga is absolutely the best place for my sister, who suffers from dementia, to live! The caring staff and active programing have prompted my sister to say, "This is the best place to live!" every time I visit. I can certainly see why she says that. From excellent meals and snacks, to Deacon Mike in daily chapel services, to daily walks in a beautiful setting, to singing and activities in the Community Room, to friendly and skilled staff, and much more....Peregrine Onondaga is indeed, "the best place to live!!!"

Attended the Aug 20th BBQ and I want to give a "Shout Out" to the staff for a terrific evening. It was so much fun seeing everyone, and especially the residents dancing and enjoying themselves.

Dear Peregrine staff and to those that this may concern, I just wanted to thank you and the entire staff at Peregrine for the lovely living conditions and the quality of life that you were able to give our parents Louise and John Schuyler. From the minute we saw your facility we knew that it was meant to be and we were so excited to have our parents accepted there. We know that a lot of nursing homes aren't the cleanest or offer the best care let alone much of any activities to stimulate anyone mentally. This intermediate living step was well worth it before a transition into a more intensive care facility was needed. We were so fortunate to receive the level of care that you provided to make our parent's final years enjoyable and dignified. We always enjoyed the apple fragrance when we entered the building and saw the red Cardinal (Mom's Favorite bird) in the tree in the lobby. It always smelled so good there, the place was always spotless, there were always lots of activities or events going on and everyone was always so helpful to not only us but the residents as well. This brings me to my final thoughts, I especially want to thank Dad's favorite Tara that would be that spark and push back to Dad with their banter they shared. He would always look for her and light up when he saw her practically running down the hallway with his walker when he spotted her. This also goes out to EVERY employee there it doesn't matter if it was Mike from Maintenance to Mary the head of Peregrine not 1 person ever said let me get someone to help you or your loved one. Everyone regardless of their title would always take care of whatever needed addressing right on the spot and with an interaction with the residents that was truly special to behold how they would get the residents to respond with their kind words and gestures. Once again we can't thank you enough for the level of care and commitment that you provided to our Parents and we couldn't recommend you enough to anyone else in this same situation. I honestly can't think of anything that I would recommend that you improve on or that we were dissatisfied with. Sincerely, Mark Schuyler
