Prairie Hills at Tipton

Putting a loved one in Memory Care is an extremely difficult decision, but Allison and staff at Prairie Hills made the decision and the transition much easier on me and my husband. Allison and Chasity always listen to and answer my questions and concerns. They have helped me understand the process that people with dementia go through, which has made things easier on me. The people working in memory care are all very special and they do a fine job with the residents. I've seen them make my husband laugh and calm down when he's upset. I've seen them get him to eat and take a shower when he wants to do neither. And the physician's assistant even got his medicine regulated so he no longer falls (he was falling quite regularly and that was leading to ER visits). I can tell that they genuinely care about his well-being. I also have to call out Marissa, who is doing an excellent job of getting the Memory Care residents more involved in activities. When you can get my husband to participate in an activity, that is a HUGE accomplishment and she's done it a few times since moving into that position. There are times when there seems to be a shortage of staff available, but I know that's being worked because I'm seeing many new employees. Overall, there's nowhere else I would want my husband to be right now. He's not far away from me, I know he's safe at Prairie Hills and he's being cared for, and that means more than words can ever say.

Hi I’m Danny Hamann. Me and the wife are from Bennett IA. We lived in Bennett for 62 years. We were very involved in Bennett our whole lives. We got the point where we needed help to take care of ourselves. So we talked with the kids and chose Prairie Hills at Tipton. And I think it was the best choice. We have been here for a year and a half, and we have enjoyed our entire stay here. I think we made the right choice. We enjoy the atmosphere here and the care we receive since we’ve been here. I would highly recommend this to anybody that needs more care.

Christian and the staff at Prairie Hills are awesome and will do anything for their residents! When visiting, it feels like such a family atmosphere!

Amy, the Executive Director, has a genuine care for her residents and creating a quality of life for them! My daughters and I recently attended their taco night that she opened to the public - and my girls loved being able to interact with the residents and make them smile! Amy is definitely the best thing to happen to this place!

This place has done a big turn around and Love it how the director has taken so many things into affect or that needed to be done. She definitely has a great personality and an amazing work ethic. She is such a loving individual and has shown many families that they are so important here. Thank you for all that you do for each and everyone here.
