My mom was around 90 and needed extra help. I was told they had one bed left and was sent a packet which I immediately filled out and returned. When I called back I was told that person no longer handled placement and didn’t know what she was talking about. I spoke with someone from the state who said it was likely an issue with my mother’s age and they want the $$$, not wanting to deal with Medicaid. Discrimination. Well I have enough $$$, I would have paid for my mom but the liar director wasn’t going to deal with it. My mom ended up going to a lousy place and I’ll regret it to the day I die but I’m convinced all these places are awful. Don’t let the higher ratings at this place mislead you. They are just as bad. They play it up but don’t care about your loved one - they just want your $$$$. ——- Regarding your response, I very much know about the details and “moving pieces” in placement as I did this for a living! There absolutely was no misunderstanding. It was clear as day that I was told the truth by one employee with the bed availability and the manager then said she no longer worked in that position and there were no beds. You can sugarcoat this all you want. People need to be aware this is how they may be treated by your facility. I hope your employee that was helpful and honest found a descent place to work. My mom is no longer alive. I was focused on your facility but because of your dishonesty she was placed in a last-minute horrible place. I’ve regretted it since and hope people don’t have to experience the same thing.

My parents are at Presidential Oaks, started at assisted living, and then my dad was moved to long-term care after a major stroke. The staff at Presidential Oaks are so great at helping my folks in every way, are very caring and nurturing. My mom enjoys the social side of living there, they both really enjoy the food. For my dad it has been mostly purée since his stroke, but he finishes and enjoys every meal. It’s wonderful that they are in the same place, my mom can visit dad as she pleases since they’re just one floor apart. None of their kids live particularly close by, including me, so it is a great comfort and relief to know that they are receiving great care.

There is not one thing bad I can say about this exceptional facility! From the receptionist to the aides, nurses, housekeeping, food service, maintenance team, they are all one big team! Each day when I visit momma, I am greeted with love and affection. The facility does not ever smell, is clean, and the activities staff is phenomenal! Always something for the residents to do and even if they can’t get out of their bed, activities goes to them. Mom has been there 2+ years and gets better soon everyday! Kudos to everyone!

All care facilities are certainly not the same. My mother had a few months stay at Harris Hill in Concord. It was an absolute nightmare. The food was terrible and although there were many caring nurses, the management should resign. They even tried to keep mom’s family from seeing her and fabricated covid policy out of thin air on a whim. What a breath of fresh air presidential old has been. We saw an immediate improvement in my mothers mood. The entire staff is super friendly and caring. The food is night and day better as well and it is almost half the cost.
