So my friend mim is in the most expensive wing there she pays for 2 hour incontinence checks and extra cares… her room is disgusting covered in pee stains all over the carpets. Considering she pays for 2 hour changes and is bound to a wheel chair this is alarming. She says they changed her maybe twice a day and once while she’s asleep I’m sorry but 3 times in 24 hours is not 2 hour changes… her carpet is stained and reaks off pee maybe once ever 6 months they clean it and the next day there’s already 2 new stains after they clean the carpet and unfortunately after a while the smell doesn’t go away anymore.. she says it because they only change her as often as they do no matter how much she asks or begs she says they’re pretty good girl they’re just understaffed… so they all tell her that while they don’t change her? I don’t get it … also when the stand her up the puddle of her own waist she’s been literally rotting her skin in all day always spills directly on the carpet . They aren’t even bathing her before bed she said they just put a new diaper on her don’t even wipe her or put any medicine on her really. She’s supposed to at least take two baths a week but it’s more like one every other week if she complains enough… she pays the most u possibly can and said multiple nurses aids were fired for complaining about not being aloud to help her enough and asking constantly for assistance because to change her is a two person job they aren’t aloud to alone for what ever reason … i don’t get it but she pays over 3k a month she says and the worst of it is her thighs are covered with soar like things I’d call it rotting off skin idk it just giant spots of exposed urine soaked bloody skin peeled off spots like lots of layers deep it makes me very sad.

I gave the facility 3 stars because the food leaves a lot to be desired. Example easter dinner was ham, turkey, pierogi, cranberry sauce etc.....really was this a combo of thanksgiving and Easter??? Come on, but you can raise the rent $300 month!!!!! these residents are not all demented, get a chef that can plan well balance meals. I understand that everything is costing more and more every day but if y'all had the properly educated staff, they can serve appetizing meals.....REMEMBER THIS IS THEIR HOME...YOU SERVE THEM SO PLEASE LISTEN!

I am so grateful to all the staff in every capacity at Providence Place in Pottsville. I am so happy that my loved one was able to spend her last year and a half with people who genuinely cared for her with compassion and respect. They went above and beyond to make sure we stayed in touch during the difficult COVID Days. The staff of the Connections Club made sure that she was involved in daily activities making her feel involved in life. I would recommend this Assisted Living very highly. You can be assured that your loved one feels like family there.

My Dad lived here for 5.5 years, well into his 90s. He stayed, for a while, in Assisted Living, then we determined that the Memory Care unit, with less isolation in his apartment, frequent observation and greater social interaction with staff would be in his best interest. He still had the opportunity to go out with friends and family, and frequently entertained friends, retired colleagues, and family during meals in the private 1st floor Club Room. He particularly enjoyed spending time on the computer every day, loved going to Physical Therapy, visiting the library, and attending every religious service, regardless of denomination. He was appreciative of the musical entertainment that was provided on a weekly basis. I myself spent 10 weeks at Providence Place following a serious illness and hospitalization 2 years ago. Although I was in my early 60s at the time and younger than most, I made many new friends among the residents and enjoyed our dining room conversations. As well, I renewed acquaintances with many staff members who had taken care of and interacted with my Dad. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The transportation to the multiple outside health care appointments that I had during that time was a godsend. I found the environment and grounds to be clean, safe, quiet, and respectful. Public areas are well-appointed; my room was lovely. I recommend Providence Place Pottsville without reservation.

I have lived at Providence Place Pottsville for nine years. During that time I have downsized once. As a retired librarian I have taken a personal interest in our small library and have tried to keep it orderly and up to date - we have no fiction books older than 10 years except for the classics. I recently volunteered to man our “general store” for 1 hour, 1 night q week since I felt a need for evening hours. Because I am diabetic I am very aware of my diet and so I act as Secretary to our Dining Committee which meets 2 times a month, There are various activities that I enjoy attending and I am always pleased with the pleasant attitudes of the personnel. Doctor transportation is a plus and our drivers are all helpful and courteous. Of course there is no place like home and sometimes I questions decisions or actions over which I have no control. But overall, if you have to be in Senior Living Providence Place is a a good place to be.
