I recently spent a 5 day stay here while my daughter had to go out of town and needed to find somewhere safe to park me while she was gone. (I had a few falls, and she was reluctant to leave me by myself). We decided to try Red Oak since they're set up to deal with hospice respite stays. This is an older facility, but it is well maintained and it hasn't been neglected. The rooms are a decent size and, while not luxurious, they are certainly adequate and comfortable. The food is somewhat bland, but it is plentiful and nutritious and you can eat all that you're capable of eating. They serve three meals a day and they encourage you to leave your room at mealtime and mingle with the other residents in the Dining Room and to linger there as long as you want. They want their clients to maintain as much social contact as possible. Red Oak provides the basic services that you would expect from an assisted living facility/nursing home (beauty and hair care, decent wi-fi, activities, transportation to medical appointments and outside events, and such). In summary, is it home? No, but it's an acceptable substitute and I will stay there again without hesitation when circumstances require. Most important the staff is adequate, observant, caring and genuinely friendly.

My mom has lived at Red Oak for two years. During this time she has received good care. Any time I have had a concern/question, the administration has responded quickly and appropriately. The nurses, aides, and support staff work hard while also taking time to get to know the residents. It doesn’t feel like an institution when you enter Red Oak and walk down the hallways. It feels as close to “home” as one might get when needing to receive daily assistance.

I think Red Oaks does a good job. My mom was there for quite awhile she died 6 years ago. She received very good care while there. My dad has been there almost 3 years. The nurses are awesome and do a great job. The other employees are great too! I know everyone is short handed these days but they make it work. Director Shawna is tops does a great job. The owner seems like a caring guy to me! It gives me peace of mind to know people who really care about my dad are taking care of him. They always keep me informed and are always willing to help lol! We think alot of Nancy the transportation lady she is 👌 awesome!

My mother has called Red Oak Estates home for almost nine years. During that time she has received quality care when well and when ill. The staff visits with her, makes certain she is safe when being transported within and outside the facility, provides her medications in a timely manner, transports her to all her medical appointments, and stays in constant contact with me and her physician. Whenever I contact the owner, I receive a quick and satisfactory response. In these most challenging of times, I have felt confident that my mother's needs were always at the forefront at Red Oak.

My mother is living at Red Oaks and the owner has been more than kind to her. He has taken her out to his farm to feed the elk and has let her help out picking tomatoes. He is always trying to help keep the residents occupied and happy. We could not be happier with the care our mother is receiving at Red Oaks.
