RESIDENCE AT SUMMER STREET, THE

Fantastic facility, wonderful residents, families and outstanding staff! On behalf of RGG Health Physical Therapy & Fitness, it is a pleasure to work with this beautiful senior living community. The team is professional, kind, and clearly goes above and beyond. 👍

The facility is always clean and plush and has a welcoming atmosphere. The receptionists, driver, associates and other staff members are friendly and very helpful and seem to be engaged in the safety and comfort of the residents. The food is fabulous. Their transportation to medical appointments and shopping is reliable.

We are in the process of evaluating senior living options for my parents and The Residence at Summer Street stood out and remains at the top of our list. I randomly walked in for a tour as we feel this unannounced approach gives us a great sense and everyday feel for a community. After a warm, friendly welcome from the staff as well as a few residents in the lobby and social areas, the positive experience continued as I received a tour led by The Residence’s Executive Director. Dawn left no stone unturned and her deep knowledge of and enthusiasm for senior living and the overall operations were evidenced throughout the tour, including knowing the residents and their family members visiting on a first name and personal basis. It was encouraging to see this level of hands-on, personable and genuine care and attention to details, especially from the company’s leadership. By the end of the tour most, if not all my questions were answered before I could ask and I walked away feeling very confident that not only would my parents’ immediate needs be taken care of but that the community and care would be a fit long-term. This stage in our lives is very challenging for all involved and presents difficult decisions; it was a relief to walk away from that experience with greater confidence!

We can no longer recommend The Residence at Summer Street. Despite my mother-in-law being a resident in good standing for 2 years, my sister was treated with downright disrespect and rudeness during the move-out. The staff wrongfully claimed my mother- in- law’s furniture to be their own. Rather than contact us to clear up their confusion, they further mishandled the situation by threatening to charge us and refusing to allow the moving company to leave the premises. Once it was proven that my mother-in- law’s furniture was indeed her own, we received no apology from the Director Dawn for being wrongfully accused nor for the disrespect my sister received. We saw the true colors of certain staff members that day, and we wouldn’t place another loved one in their care after such a troubling experience and lack of professionalism.

Sometimes I feel like I write a review too soon, whether it's about an appliance I purchased or service at a nail salon. This review is being written a little over a year after my parents moved to the Residence. We were welcomed into the Residence, given a wonderful tour of the facility, met some very friendly, outgoing residents and knew this was the place for my parents to continue to enjoy their lives. There has never been a person who works there who doesn't have a smile and a friendly greeting. My mother faced some medical issues that were addressed in a professional and caring way. There was never a time that questions were not answered. I'm very grateful for the care and love that my parents have at the Residence. Thank you to everyone who makes it such a wonderful community.
