Riverdale Assisted Living Facility

My mother was a Riverdale for six months. Let me say COVID is not an excuse to lock down the facility indefinitely. For Mother’s Day my daughter and I brought cheese to share in the visiting space. We were told after 5 minutes we had to move because we could not be supervised. Yet, the space that was set aside for visitors. Even my mother says this was the worst place she has lived. She says the food is “recycled.” I asked for menus four times and never got one. Riverdale had a COVID outbreak in June and did not tell me. I found out after I arrived to take my mother out for an appointment. During move out, everything was disorganized even after calling and confirming. The nurses provided medication and did their jobs as far as I know. The weekend nurses and staff are the best. New management is trying harder but have a ways to go.

My mom became a resident of Riverdale in October 2021. I can't emphasize enough what a terrific group there is at Riverdale. Cassandra, Rugiana, Clarence, Myron, the list goes on - they are all superb, kind, hardworking, understanding, patient and WONDERFUL people. I am very grateful my mom is there, and the staff deserves major accolades for going above and beyond to do such hard work and make it seem easy.

After touring this facility I was more than certain that it would be my grandmothers next home. There was exceptional cleanliness and organization. The staff were pleasant and possessed great communication skills. They easily walked us through their entire daily routines, finances, benefits, and nurse objectives in the matter of minutes. I will be moving here in this fall and I have no reservations about my decision to do so. I trust that this facility will take care of her as I would. Looking forward to a great stay

It had been a roller coaster ride for my loved one who is a resident. It is important as family that you build relationships and maintain high frequency of your presence and active participation in your loved ones care.(to the extent possible during the pandemic) The administrator has worked very hard to stabilize the internal structure and staffing issues.

They are under new management now and my mom is a new resident there. It was a hard decision for me to make and they made the transition easy for me and my mom. Its clean and smells good! The staff has patience and my mom said everyone is nice to her. The food is pretty good as well. I am welcome anytime and have pretty much met all the staff. We were able to bring her furniture and items for her room and that helped her feel at home. Riverdale has made things easier...its not perfect, no where is but I'm pleased and I dont worry about my mom at night. Gheri the operations manager along with Richard and her other staff are making great changes at Riverdale! Thank you so much for all your help during this major change in my families life.
