Please note that current address is 17535 South Parker Road Homer Glen, IL 60491 This place seems to be a lot more expensive than some others. Ask for the cost of a private room and it will cost you $2,000 more and get you a room in the basement! And just because you happened to ask, you will automatically be given a private room! The rooms on first floor are shared rooms and she had reservations for the last room, so I ended up in the basement paying more for it! Seems like I should have got a discount instead. Once you are in the basement, they complain that they have to come down to the basement to take care of you. They put you to sleep about 6-7 pm and don't want to be bothered until the next day after 7 am. They will bring your medication through the night but that is it. Her daughters take turns each week and one can't do anything extra because she is pregnant and the other can't because she had an operation. As mentioned in other reviews, communication can be difficult. While I was there my eyesight was compromised since I needed cataract surgery. I probably would have been more upset if I saw more of what was going on. Oh, and once you get into this place it is difficult to get out. Roma tried to talk the owner of the place that I am staying at now not to take me. She also tried to scare me out of going. Thankfully, I am now in a place that doesn't try to talk me into going on hospice (like Roma did), encourages my well-being and joyfully takes care of me.

My Loved One received substandard care at the Archer Ave “home.” My LO was there for 4.5 months and left with three Stage 2 pressure ulcers despite being provided with a wedge to bolster the resident. The Owner, Romualda Thomas, does not like to be questioned about even the smallest detail and she will not like it if you do. A simple request to provide me with a list of current meds and dosages sent “Roma” off the deep end. Romualda was unwilling to provide me with a current list of meds and dosages. I’m the Healthcare POA and had every right to ask. I was in the process of selecting a Part D plan that day and needed to compare coverages. My concern was balancing my LO care & finding another place without jeopardizing LO health and safety while still under the care of Roma Home Care. Once I got the call that a bed was available at my place of choice, my LO was moved in 2 days, which left the Owner furious. Romualda KNEW from the start that my LO would need to transfer to a place that would transition from self-pay to Medicaid which is why she left the end date of the 12-month contract blank for us. Yet she refused to refund the $8000 deposit to my elderly sister because we didn’t give 30-day notice. It was pre-decided that a 30-day notice might be unsafe for my LO. On the day I moved my LO out, Roma put her face close to mine and said, “she can afford to stay 2 years.” I backed away. Don’t let her smile fool you. We had an understanding but she’s greedy and I failed to get our understanding in writing. Please be careful when making the decision to trust Roma Home Care with your LO. My LO didn’t have a brief change from 4/19-4/22. Before that, there was a 3-day stretch of no changes and I didn’t believe my LO the first time. There was a mouse infestation in the tiny bedroom shared by 2 people and it was not handled by a professional service. Three weeks later, more droppings were evident (see photos). Cups and straws are reused daily and I’m sure there’s bacterial growth. See the photos. Would you drink out of those dirty cups? My LO had more than 3 UTIs within a 4.5 month period. Please be careful if someone (including a placement service) recommends this place for your Loved One. Do not feel pressure to place your LO in a rush by hospital Social Workers. It’s not worth it.

These women never showed certification so not quite sure if they’re certified or not. Cannot speak English very well big lack of communication. Pay scale can work to their advantage, The more hours they work the lower the hourly rate ...so they decide to leave early then they expect to get paid at a higher rate!! Roma does not communicate very well when the caregiver decided she did not want to work anymore she just did Not show up and Roma never advised us, leaving our 96-year-old mother without care and alone. This is a terrible unprofessional provider. Look somewhere else for care!!!! I wouldn’t have even given them one star but the system won’t allow me to.

Terrible agency! Very unprofessional to say the least! Today our caregiver never showed to care for my 96 year old mother who lives alone! When I finally reached Roma she states that our caregiver had anxiety about caring for my mother. I guess she shouldn’t be in the business of caring for an elderly person who requires help to the restroom, getting dressed and with meals. Also, they do NOT speak or understand English very well so there was a constant communication issue. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the aggravation DO NOT USE THIS AGENCY! If I could have given negative stars i would have.

I am very happy with the care my mom is getting here at Roma Home Care. Very homey atmosphere here. Roma is excellent at all aspects of home care. From wound care to the comfort of all the patients in her care. There is always some kind of situation to keep up with and Roma's staff handles them all flawlessly. Home cooked meals. And the Communion Lady comes on Friday to administor the sacrament. There is also a physical therapist that comes twice a week. Making sure the residents are well taken care of. I recommend her services.
