In my opinion, the Sheridan at Tyler Creek needs to vastly improve their contracted services provided to residents for payment. This is getting ridiculous. Mold in chair. Dirty toilet. Unsecured medicine out of the original labeled bottle has led to discrepancies in counts and administered meds. Finger nail brush used to brush hair instead of asking family for replacement brush. Dirty surfaces often left in the same condition until brought to the attention of staff by family. In spite of a closet filled with presentable clothes to wear, CNA's choose to dress resident in extremely oversized, torn and tattered clothing that does not belong to her. Electronic monitoring shows the resident being dressed in said clothing with torn cuff tucked into the sleeve by the CNA. Also, memory care staff needs to put a lot more effort into helping residents who have problems eating by cueing them or feeding them if that does not work. Residents should be treated with respect and dignity. I do not feel this is a priority. Also I find the replies to these reviews to be useless. I have frequently communicated my concerns to Directors of the facility and Seniorlifestyle with adversarial results. In my opinion it merely adds insult to injury.

In my opinion, the grooming/cleanliness of residents at the Sheridan at Tyler Creek in Elgin, Illinois is not adequate. The staff does not provide adequate help in assisting residents in eating their meals when necessary.

The Sheridan at Tyler Creek has been caring for my mom for just over a year. She is 89 and has dementia but is healthy otherwise. They do an excellent job overall with caring for her. I am very thankful for the staff and all they do to care for my mom since my dad passed away 4 years ago. Thank you all = )

A big thank you and much appreciation to the staff at The Sheridan at Tyler Creek for the many ways you care and provide assistance for our loved ones. I am regularly reminded on how difficult their jobs are to care for the residents in various ways, even when my parents are not able to communicate or appreciate the care given. My parents have been residents at the Sheridan for over a year now. In that time, there has been turn over of staff. I have been saddened to see many friendly faces go, but welcome the new ones and to help with any transitional ways for them as well as my parents. I can't say enough how very thankful I am for the purposeful commitment the staff have taken to see that my parents are able to enjoy one another often even though they are in separate apartments.
