SHIRLEY HOME FOR THE AGED

A very sad and depressing establishment. The dining menu is what it is regardless of residents needs or likes. Staff is very friendly and caring but sparse when you need them. Every option to telephone any department, station, administration or resident goes to Voicemail which is ignored.

My group visits here bi-weekly, and I am always impressed with the Shirley Home. The residents are smiling and happy, and are offered a variety of activities and entertainment. The facility is clean, and the staff very professional.

I called my sister caral at the shrileyburg personal care home.ans my sister was apparently suppose to use the elevator instead. The was the care giver talk to me sister shouted at her that she needs to us the steps. Her tone was extremely abusive, an emotional abusive, my sister told me they refused to give her inhaler, totally disregarded the doctor's orders. This will be the second time I will have to report them,as before when I take to my sister, she was very sick I ask them to take her to see a doctor,as I do not drive only to be told that they only make Two trips to State College twice a month, as it end up she had to be rushed to the hospital, my sister was very sick. I would not recommed this place for any family member, and I will be reporting them tomorrow. Carole Gerst
