ST. JOHN SPECIALTY CARE CENTER

If zero was an option. My elderly mom was admitted into a dirty room. NOTHING CLEAN. Frozen food. Neglected by staff repeatedly. House dr said her lungs were clear from clots but hospital ( after I insisted she be seen) said it wouldn't have been long for my mom to have a stroke or worse. I wouldn't recommend this hell hole to anyone.

My sister is in St Johns as I speak. My sister has wanted to go home for 2 months.She is self pay. Every time we come close to discharge they find another reason to keep her. When we complain they say they will discharge her so medicare won't pay. Stay away from this place. They don't care about your loved one all they care about is money.

January 2025. Our daughter was here for physical therapy and nursing care. Her care from nurses and staff was very good. They were attentive, prompt, and very understanding of her needs. The Physical Therapy Team was excellent. They were very good at adapting a program to meet the needs of our daughter. We would not hesitate to use St. John's SCC for another family member, if needed !

This place will be the next Brighton Rehabilitation Center. The care they are giving to the residents is minimum to none. The staff sit behind the desk on their phones, hide in residents rooms so they can vape, or just plain ignore the residents. The staff is also rude to one another and the residents. They call the residents hateful names and talk about them at the nurses station. More than once multiple people could hear about a residents business. The staff doesn't seem to even know how to do their jobs. Get told multiple times they don't know where stuff is or how to do something for the resident. The staff they do have is always short and doesn't meet staffing ratio is what they said. The smell is a telltale sign of that. You walk onto a floor and all you smell is urine and feces. I was there visiting when the State Department was there and all of sudden they had staff making the place look nice. All and all I wouldn't send a love oned here, between how dirty the facility is to how rude their staff is without knowing what they are doing.

St John's is truly hell on earth! The lobby is nice but that's it! From the moment you get off the elevator the smell of human waste is overwhelming! The place is DIRTY & RUNDOWN. The nursing staff was lazy, had horrible attitudes & ignored the patients crying for help. Most of the aids, however, were pretty caring but totally overworked. I truly have no idea how this place has not been shut down by the health dept! There is absolutely nothing positive to say, even the billing department (if you can reach them) is awful! Please, please if you care anything about your loved ones don't put them in St John's!
