About a year ago we began our journey to find a place for my mom. When we walked into Sunset Park Place, we were greeted by Shelly almost immediately. As soon as she started to speak, I knew we had found home. Mom has lived in one of the assisted living apartments for nearly a year, and we couldn’t feel more secure about the care she receives. The staff is compassionate and friendly, and have become like family. I am so grateful to know my mother is safe with caring people and afforded many opportunities for activities. Sometimes I want to move in.

Sunset Park Place has provided a safe, caring and homelike environment for my Aunt. She moved in before Christmas and the staff and other residents welcomed her and helped her quickly acclimate. Her apartment is beautiful and she reports that the food is delicious! She is also enjoying the activities provided—BINGO, rosary, exercise class and card playing just to name a few. Knowing that she is safe and happy is very important to our family—thank you so much for everything!!!

The Last Best Place describes the environment at Sunset! It's also the nickname for my home state. When I am many miles from my dear Mom, it's great to know she's safe, comfortable and having fun. Thank you to the Sunset staff!

Our mom has been at Sunset Park Place for several years. She has received amazing love and care from the staff and administrators! The staff and administrators see the residents as family and it is quite obvious! There are many activities both in and outside of the facility based on a resident's abilities and mobility. Residents who want to stay busy inside the facility can participate in crafts, games, movie nights, music events, special meals, exercise classes, and lots more. They have a library with books and puzzles. There is always something going on for all especially for those who are unable to get out much. For those who want to get out but not drive there are weekly activities where the residents can go shopping, site seeing, to local restaurants, and even get a ride to/from medical appointments. They also have a hair dresser on site several days a week who makes each resident she works with feel loved and special while making them look beautiful! Another added benefit of Sunset Park Place is that a resident can begin to live in an apartment with a kitchen, living room, bedroom area, and bathroom. As their needs increase they can stay in the same apartment but eat more of the delicious meals in the dining room and just not use their kitchen appliances as much. We are so blessed to have our mom in a facility where the staff and administrators love and care for her so well. If you or a loved one are looking for a facility such as Sunset Park Place, I would highly recommend you call them up and check out all of the benefits this facility offers. We were was fortunate enough to have found a lovely apartment in Assisted Living at Sunset for my mother after a severe fall and dementia diagnosis. The apartment was immaculate, homey, light and bright. The staff was very attentive and set my brother and I at ease since we both live hundreds of miles away from Dubuque. There were activities and social gatherings, attention to individual medical needs, and a lot of caring involved in her daily living. As the disease progressed they helped us transition our mother to Weiland Gardens Memory Care Unit. We are grateful for my mom's safety and the peace of mind that she is being looked after well.
