My Mother lived here 6 years until June 11, 2024. One star and why- 1.Lack of communication in Administration 2. Administration- during 6 year period - First administrator was excellent, Cheryl associated with the residents, was friendly and easy to contact at any point in time. It was almost like 24 seven Care! Oh and did I mention she was also the D. O. N. She could do both jobs and run circles around the other administrators and present D.O.N. Second Administrator it was a far different story, and even one told by the present Administrator. There was neglect on her part in administration, often things were left undone and on the responsibility of the staff taking charge. One instance there was feces left on the floor for 3 days. Her bathroom was unusable due to the stool overflowing. Yes, I have pictures. Grace, that admin was very kind, but really did not seem to know what was going on most of the time. Present day, Administrator. I’m convinced that the owners of Tealridge decided to put someone in that position who could take charge and clean up. We were on the agenda as one of the ones for cleanup. I agree it was time to move our mother due to more needs on her behalf. The manner in which we were approached was wrong it was forced, without notice. Will not give details on this, but was uncalled for. Within 2 1/2 weeks, my mother was moved out of Tealridge Assisted Living. Prepaying for this to happen at new facility. I think anyone would recognize the pressure that was put upon us. After all belongings were moved out I verbally talked with Chiquita, the administrator of Tealridge Assisted Living who informed me I would be getting a refund for those days not used. I was pressured to get her out of Tealridge and yet a week later I find out that billing has no record of issuing a refund check that I was promised by administration that would happen. Now I am told that I will have to wait 30 days even though I have had to pre-pay at my Mothers other establishment we moved her to. Is this a lack of communication? I had to prepay for the place for my Mother now. Tealridge still owes me over 2400,00. I do not like having to do a rant and never would have, but this is nuts getting the run around trying to find a person to contact. Always out of the office or sorry they are not available. Need some answers and not just promises and nothing happening. Just cut a check and let me come pick it up!! Wake up Tealridge owners. You have a problem.

I was there only to pick a chair up for a client. Well kept, friendly staff, everyone smiled made sure to acknowledge everyone. Had a beautiful fire burning in the fireplace( was cold on this day)... smelled like your own home which is a big win for this girl.

We sang Christmas carols here. The residents and staff were sweet. Thanks for having us.

Really disappointed with Tealridge Independent Living and recent cost-saving decision to change all residents' cable tv provider to the much cheaper (for the facility) satellite via coaxial to every apartment. Even if residents weren't experiencing the nightmare of setup glitches that are happening, it's still one more thing that reflects facilty director's default preference of budget over people. But the transition glitches are widespread, and director has told several residents that they'll probably need to purchase new tv's if theirs aren't going to end up being compatible. And then she explained to them how the purchase of a new tv would end up being less expensive than residents' only other option -- to start paying for Cox cable tv. I don't disparage a business for being wise with their money. But with occupancy (at least) doubling at Tealridge Independent Living since my dad has been there, I have yet to see residents benefit from add'l cash flow. Dining staff has not increased with added occupancy. The suggestion box on the front counter is a farce, as it's never emptied. (Was accidentally left 'open' one evening and was absolutely stuffed with notes - who knows for how long.) Television viewing is probalby one of an older person's main activities, and to give them technological whiplash and massive learning curves just isn't right. But if the director were in charge of a less vulnerable demographic, maybe same decision wouldn't have been made.

Loving caring place. I just have to add that when you walk through the door the facility smells so nice and clean and has big spacious wide halls. You could probably eat off the floor it’s so clean thanks to Pam and Twila!
