Just moved my aunt in yesterday. Luthercare at The Lutheran Home in Topton was too cult-like. I'm very impressed with my decision to transfer her after only 4 wks at The Lutheran Home.

Don't make the same mistake I did moving my loved one here. The reviews make it look great, but as someone else already stated, I'm pretty sure most of them were made by people who work there. The revolving door of staff in this facility constantly seems to be on a break, standing around chatting, or partaking in parties meant for residents rather than actually caring for the residents. They can try and save face by posting photos of their updated facility and fancy movie room, but take one step inside the memory care unit and you can see first hand how disgusting it is. This place is filthy, and residents are neglected and not cared for. They don't wash or change bedsheets, laundry is usually overflowing, trash is barely removed from rooms, toilets were always backed up, and I don't think this facility even owns a vacuum. And that is just a short list of how they treat property, now imagine how they treat people. If you are skeptical of this review I would encourage you to look at the amount of emergency ambulance calls that are made to this facility vs facilities that are larger with more residents to care for. There is a lot of neglect going on here and even one star is giving them too much credit. Please don't make the same mistake I did. Update after response from the Atrium: My intention with the original review was to provide honest feedback on an experience I personally had. Your response is completely dismissive of problems within your facility or your willingness to correct them and instead tries to turn it around on the reviewer (me) as just being someone with an axe to grind. I encourage you to look at this review and do some self reflection on things that are within your control to fix instead of encouraging employees and other providers that benefit from work being given by your facility to leave positive comments. I'm also adding a screenshot of a recent emergency call (among the many) made to your facility where a resident within the facility called for help after falling after no one at the facility helped him for TWO HOURS!

The Atrium continues to be one of the communities I have the utmost confidence in. The care here is genuine, and the team goes make sures residents feel supported and valued. The nursing and operations staff have always been attentive to my needs when working with them, and I’ve seen firsthand how compassionate they are with residents and families. It’s rare to find a community that balances excellent care with a reasonable price point, but The Atrium does just that.

The Mother’s Day event today was fantastic. Kudos to the hard working staff for making the residents and their families feel very special. We had lobster cones, salad, steak or shrimp and crème brûlée! Along with some delicious sangria. Great job to all those who helped put it together.
