From the moment I walked in, I was met with confusion and judgment. The staff looked at us like we had 10 heads and immediately asked how we got in — even though they watched us walk through the front door. My fiancé replied that we just turned the door knob and walked in. Instead of being concerned about their lack of security, they seemed annoyed with us for entering, as if we were the problem — not the fact that they had “forgotten to lock the door” in a facility meant to protect vulnerable residents. After visiting my dad, I asked a kind African American staff member if she could add me as a point of contact in case my father passed away, so I could be notified. She politely went to the back to ask another staff member, an older white woman, who overheard me. That woman put her hand on her forehead, shook her head for what felt like 30 seconds, then turned around and said rudely, “Oh, it’s you. No, we cannot.” I was only in the building for five minutes, yet I was already being profiled. The only explanation for her attitude was that my father is white and I am Black — because I’m adopted. The way she looked at me and dismissed me was unacceptable and deeply hurtful. This experience made me question how they treat the residents in their care when no one is watching. If this is how they treat family members — with rudeness, profiling, and lack of professionalism— I can only imagine how the patients are treated. Please think twice before trusting your loved one’s final days to this place.

Very nice kind place. God bless all that work there. And the people come in to just ask how you are doing beautiful

I had a dear friend who was terminally ill and was a resident there and this place was an oasis in the middle of the desert so when my son was facing the passing onto his forever home, my daughter in love and I chose to have him transported there. It was the best decision ever and we wished we would have moved him sooner. The love and care was like angels winging over us.

My mother passed early this year and this place was wonderful to her, to my family who visited, and the care the have for people. Absolutely beautiful place to end your days. Thank you guys!
