My father was placed in Lurheran Family Care. His room was in the basement with a small barred window that was more like a prison cell. While there he developed decubitus ulcers, foot drop and cantractures. He had an diaper and had creamed corn shoveled in his mouth. The hospital administrator repeatedly failed to take accountability for his staff, claiming that I was playing "phone tag" whenever I tried to reach him to inquire about my father. And while the facility was barely passing JCAHCO. Mercifuly he died of kidney failure and his suffering was over.

I hesitated looking here because of the high rates of COVID they had during the pandemic but I looked at it due to convenience. First of all each time I called for an appointment tbe representative was either out if town or not available. My mother and I ended up getting a tour from the resident. We didn't see any employees anywhere and I was quite surprised at the lack of cleanliness and organization. We towards several continuing care communities in the area. And this is the last one that I would send my mother to . Fortunately she agreed with me. There are many choices here in Lancaster. And if I were you I'd make another one

I am absolutely shocked by some of these reviews. Both my mother and father lived at Luther Acres independently for 15+ years. My dad transitioned from a hospital stay to skilled nursing and his care was impeccable. My mother has been a resident in the Memory Care unit. The nurses are kind and knowledgeable ,and the caretakers positive and delightful. The staff regularly communicates with me and knows her well. I could not ask for a better caretaking situation. In several years I will clearly be putting my name on the wait list. What a tremendous organization!

I had a disappointing experience at Katy’s Grill. Despite arriving promptly to place my order, I was dismayed when the lady at the register allowed an employee, Helen from activities, to skip ahead of me in line. Helen proceeded to order breakfast at 10:10 am, well past the supposed breakfast cutoff time. When it was finally my turn to order, my experience was further marred by interruptions from multiple phone calls. To my surprise, I was abruptly informed that breakfast service was over, despite the inconsistencies in enforcing this rule. With no alternative lunch options provided, I left without placing an order. This lack of fairness, professionalism, and communication left me deeply dissatisfied with my visit.

These people are completely incompetent DONT EVER SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. I highly recommend them not giving them a penny to care for your loved ones. My grandmother was in their care post op, they left in staples for 3 weeks, Luther Acres canceled her follow up appointments with her surgeon. They were given walking instruction for physical therapy and the physical therapist chose INDEPENDENTLY to put her in intense physical therapy instead which caused so much damage to her body they needed to perform ANOTHER surgery. They do not protect and care for their residents like you would expect them to. Your family members are not safe in their care for memory care or physical therapy and especially not for post operative care. So much damage has been done to my grandmothers body she may not recover from this. They claim a doctor saw her multiple times a week while she in Luther Acres care and my grandmother (who is quite sharp) says she never once saw a doctor. Do not trust them with your loved ones. They don’t care. She’s been in so much pain for weeks and no one at their facility thought she go see a doctor even though they received her discharged papers and were informed she was due for a follow up with her surgeon and they canceled multiple appointments without telling her or her POA. Completely ridiculous.
