My mother has dementia and can no longer speak or care for herself. We placed her in the Rutherford. We liked the layout of the facility. The bathroom was outdated and we had to replace the shower head. The food was not great. They brought in a guy who was former military to run the menory care unit and he was horrible. No compassion. No communication. I had to report him. They did not have things like sugar, on a regular basis. Only a few staff members were good. Things that happened: My mother's curling iron was stolen and not replaced. My mother was hit by a male patient TWICE!! They knew of his violent tendencies!! Why was he still there? She is a little lady in a wheelchair who would not harm anyone. I have pictures of her injuries and it was reported to the state and the police were also notified. They didn't act like they cared, specifically that male supervisor. We took my mother out of there. She feared for her safety. She communicated this thru her form of non-verbal communication to her provider. It was the saddest and hardest thing to deal with knowing someone hurt my mother! All I can say is BEWARE.

This was a GREAT place for Mom. She had dementia and has recently passed away. They were all so loving towards my Mom. She called it her Senior Apartment. I will miss all those smiling faces and think of them often. The staff was so good to her. She loved them as I do! Not just anyone can do this job! Babette Winchell, Murfreesboro, TN

My mother was a resident at The Rutherford Memory Care for nearly 2 years before she passed away. On my initial visit to the facility, I immediately knew that this was the place for her. The staff is professional, courteous and extremely caring. As an RN of over 44 years, I know quality care when I see it. My mother was very happy there and the staff doted and loved on her. I couldn't have asked for better. I will forever be grateful to them for the love and care they showed my mother in her last days. I couldn't recommend them more.

This Memory Care unit provides excellent care and activities! The Activity Program Coordinator, Emily, is wonderful with the residents! They are blessed to have such a wonderful young lady and a great team of care givers, not to mention Pam, a superb leader! Thank you for all you do!

Friendly caring staff. Director, Kristen, takes a personal interest in the residents and families. The staff care about the residents and seem to always be smiling and gentle as they care for them. There are varying activities planned that are fun and entertaining for the residents. Our family is very pleased and most importantly, our Mother, who is a resident, is content and happy.
