The Willows in Oxford FL is a great assisted living. The building has an open feeling with two story entrance and cafeteria. Clean and well maintained but the best part is the staff, everyone from the nurses to cafeteria staff is fantastic. They got to know my father-in-law and actually cared. He told us how good they were taking care of him and was happy. That in & of itself was a miracle, he distrusted everyone. Unfortunately his stay was cut short, his health deteriorated.

The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The facility is very clean and well maintained. The only issues are that they wake up the residents who go to bed early at 9:30 pm to bathe them, and then make them sign a form stating that they refused being bathed. Many things on the menu in the dining facility are too tough to chew for elderly people who struggle with denture issues.

This is a beautiful environment, friendly staff and good food! The lobby has high ceilings with high windows that give in a lot of light. There are benches and rockers outside that invite the residents to sit and talk or enjoy the fresh air. My mother is very happy here. The staff make an effort to know all their names and greet them with a cheerful smile. It gives me peace knowing she is well taken care of by compassionate people.

My mother was at The Willows for two weeks of respite care. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. She enjoyed the food. Special thanks to Joy and Tito who helped her make calls to family.

The staff is inadequate often seen sitting around on their phones. Mom is not given proper hygiene care to include showers, teeth brushing or diaper changes sometimes for days. Mom’s clothes are not changed everyday and her living space is not cleaned weekly. I often do these tasks myself. I also have tracked down staff multiple times to ask about medication not being given properly and most of the time staff cannot answer why. Mom has been admitted to the hospital twice in 6 weeks for UTI which occurred from sitting in a wet diaper. The food is terrible , low cost pasta and rice dishes. The food staff personal with the exception of a few move slowly and hide in the kitchen not attending the resident needs. Often, 20 minutes passes before staff come to the table to help the residents. Often, it takes another 20 minutes to receive their meal. I know all this because I visited my Mom everyday. I know this because I have worked in the Medical field for 40 years. I am researching other facilities to move her out.
