Vintage Hills Retirement Community

My mom has been at Vintage Hills for 1 1/2 years. We love it here. Staff is very supportive and enjoyable. There are a variety of activities and new ones are being added. Most recently a Bible Study offered by a new resident. Saturday morning is coffee and sweet rolls so that family can join their relative and meet other residents. This is always fun. Staff make available a monthly open meeting for all residents to discuss items and make suggestions. The office staff will also listen to suggestions and will consider implementing them if they benefit residents. All staff are easy to talk to and when approached positively about concerns will figure out solutions and will make corrections quickly. They work hard to make Vintage Hills feel like home.

My mom has been living at Vintage Hills Assisted Living for a little over a year, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with her experience there. She constantly talks about how wonderful the care team is, everyone is always smiling, checking in on her, and asking what else they can do to help. There is such a positive, welcoming vibe throughout the building. it truly feels like a community. She especially loves the activities and the live music. Seeing how excited she gets when her favorite songs are played, and how she turns right back into her younger dancing self, means everything to me. I have not lived in Iowa for quite some time now, so I’m not able to visit as often as I’d like, but the management team does an amazing job keeping me updated. They are always easy to reach, responsive, and happy to answer any questions I have, which gives me so much peace of mind. Knowing my mom is happy, well cared for, and genuinely enjoying her life there makes all the difference. I’m incredibly grateful for the care and compassion shown to her every day and would highly recommend Vintage Hills to any one looking for a great place for their loved one.

My mom has gotten great care at Vintage Hills. She has lived at two other places before that just couldn’t seem to get it right, or meet her needs. I am so impressed with the staff and management. Always responsive to my mom’s needs and any questions I have. I am always able to get ahold of someone if I need something, and everyone is always so pleasant. Can’t say enough great things about the place.

Recently no staff present and visible in the atrium when you walk in to visit a family member. Limited staff. Called for an emergency this evening, twice, and pressed option"2" to reach a staff member, phone rang 5 to 6 times and no one answered. Who is covering night shifts? Who is covering day shifts? Cost for minimal assistance is $ 7,000.00 with a spouse, $8,000.00. At least they could do is answer the phone!

I had an opportunity to visit Vintage Hills Assisted Living and was very impressed by the bright and inviting atmosphere, as well as how friendly the staff were. Everyone greeted me with a smile. The residents all seemed happy and engaged and there seemed to be a lot of activity going on. I would recommend this community to anyone who is looking for someone they care about.
