Independence Village is fantastic. They offer independent living, assisted living, and memory care living options in one building. The thing that sets them apart is the staff. The care team is outstanding because they genuinely care about all of their residents. They constantly go above and beyond to make sure the residents are safe and comfortable. My parents moved in about 6 months ago. Last month my mom said she has never lived anywhere where she felt this safe.

Our family found Independence Village during one of the most difficult and emotional seasons we’ve ever faced, and what could have been an overwhelming experience turned into something filled with support, compassion, and genuine care. From the very beginning, Sarah was a complete God-send. I was connected with Sarah out of pure desperation, unsure of what to do or where to even start, and she immediately stepped in with urgency and kindness. Sarah didn’t just help secure a spot for our family member—Sarah walked alongside us through every step of the process. She answered every question with patience, guided us through decisions we didn’t feel prepared to make, and made something incredibly heavy feel manageable. What truly sets Sarah apart is how deeply she cares. Sarah was in constant communication with us, always checking in, keeping us updated, and making sure we felt supported and informed. Even after our family member moved in, Sarah continued to follow up to ensure they were settling in, comfortable, and truly feeling at home. That kind of follow-through is rare, and it meant everything to me. Sarah didn’t just do her job—she genuinely invested in our situation and in our family member’s well-being. Anastasia has also been nothing short of incredible, and I can’t say enough about the impact she’s had on our experience. From the moment I met her, it was clear how much she truly cares—not just about the residents, but about their families too. Anastasia has this calm, reassuring presence that immediately puts you at ease, especially in moments when you’re feeling uncertain or emotional. Anastasia is always available, incredibly responsive, and communicates so clearly and thoughtfully. No question ever feels too small, and no concern is ever brushed aside. Anastasia takes the time to listen, to explain, and to make sure you fully understand what’s going on, which builds an incredible amount of trust. Anastasia also goes above and beyond in ways that don’t go unnoticed. She is attentive to the little details that make a big difference—checking in, offering reassurance, and making sure residents, their families, and her care staff feel supported every step of the way. There’s a genuine warmth and compassion in how she interacts with people that you simply can’t teach—it’s who she is. Knowing she is there, advocating, communicating, and caring, gives me so much peace of mind. Going into this, I’ll admit I was scared. I had only ever heard “horror stories” about assisted living, and when our situation came together so quickly, I didn’t know what we were walking into. But Independence Village completely changed that perspective for me. They don’t just meet expectations—they exceed them in every possible way. The level of care, communication, and compassion they provide extends far beyond the residents to their families as well. Sarah made an immense impact in helping to navigate this journey. Anastasia continues to reinforce every day that we made the right decision. Sarah and Anastasia—thank you will never feel like enough. I am beyond grateful for everything you’ve done and continue to do for our family!

Visiting the Village of Pella was such a wonderful experience. Lovely, friendly staff and heavenly food options. They have such fun and engaging activities. The holiday specials they host were so heartfelt and endearing. Highly recommend for your family and friends.

Independence Village is the place for your loved ones to live. The staff are so personable, they are like extended family, they go over and above ensuring your loved ones are cared for and stay engaged to the ‘real world’! I know they must give their own time for all they do for their residents! So many activities for the residents to enjoy, to numerous to mention, but a few including day bus trips, celebrating holidays and things like Macy Day parade, Super Bowl, Easter egg hunts, Halloween, barbecues, the list goes on and on.

Sarah made the move for my mom a wonderful transition. She was such a blessing to not only our mom but to us kids as well. Always available anytime of day to answer our many questions and help support us where needed. Our mom was feeling kind of blue about the move, but after the tour with Sarah she was so happy and excited and ready to move! After the move, she made sure Mon was being well cared for and would stop in to see if she needed anything and if there was anything she could assist with. We can’t say enough good things about Sarah and the whole staff at Independence Village. You truly care for others and treat all residents as your extended family!
