Horrible experience. I feel terrible for anyone who is trapped in here or doesn’t have family to advocate. I had a family member have to stay for rehab, 90 years old, health care proxy in full effect. There was NO communication after we left her there and no one returned calls after several tries. There was NO care plan meeting until day 16. When we tried to speak to floor staff for updates/plan we were dismissed and treated as if we were inconveniencing them. Our family member stated that some of the staff were “bullies”, and while she struggles with memory loss, she has never indicated any mistreatment by any caregivers in many years. There were multiple violations throughout her stay that I will not share for her privacy but instead with DPH. It’s places like this that remind us why our long term care system needs an overhaul. Please research who you are trusting with your loved ones.

The Cape Regency Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center has personality! The Administrative leadership, medical teams, therapists, nursing assistants, social services deliver all-inclusive professional care. My husband, William “Bill” Bolton, received much needed care and attention during his residency. Bill’s 95th birthday was celebrated with mirth, especially, when staff sang “Happy Birthday” with a range of accents and smiles. Cape Regency is fortunate to have leadership that genuinely cares about what is going on from facility management to resident care. A quality to be admired. Do not hesitate to consider The Cape Regency Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center to answer your needs when the time comes. Respectfully, Sandra Bolton

The care my family member has received at Cape Regency over the past year has been exceptionally good. As a geriatric nurse care manager, I am familiar with various care settings throughout Cape Cod. I have observed compassionate care from many staff members at Cape Regency towards my loved one and our family. Residents are well cared for and requested needs are promptly met. The physical building may be showing it’s age, but the quality of care received from nursing, therapy and social work departments has given us peace of mind that our loved one is in caring hands when we cannot be with her. We are grateful for your warmth during a difficult time.

My father has had excellent care at Cape Regency. He is on the second floor for hospice care. The CNAs and nurses truly care about their patients and have become friends with my dad while he is there. Even while his health is declining, he smiles when his favorite staff enter the room. They go the extra mile to make sure he is not scared or upset-including holding his hand, singing to him and calling me to talk with him. Even when not assigned to him, many CNAs and nurses stop in before or after a shift to see how he is doing. When I need to spend many hours there, staff make sure I have something to drink and a guest tray if needed. They hired a new director of food services recently and the food has been good. The staff makes sure to call me if my father needs me and consulted with the VNA Hospice team and the Regency’s in-house doctor and nurse practitioner to make sure that my dad’s medication needs were met. Jackie, the social worker, made my dad feel empowered and heard and he always spoke glowingly of her. Residents have daily activities they can participate in and the activities staff deliver mail and come around to see residents as well. They have a beautician come on Tuesdays and my dad enjoyed getting his hair cut. Overall, I know my dad is well cared for and feels safe and secure while at Cape Regency.
