Harriett and Ralph Kaplan Estates

What started as a respite stay after she broke her leg, turned into a three year stay at a place my mother called home for three years. From the very beginning of this chapter in her life, she was treated with care and respect by everyone on the staff at Kaplan. The facility itself is very nice and well maintained. There are many engaging activities each day and the residents are offered a variety of things to do. My mother is an artist and a few months after she got there was asked to display her paintings in a small art show in her honor. It was so nice for her to be able to share her earlier life with her new friends at Kaplan. Kindness is the word I would use to best describe Kaplan.

My brother has been a resident of Kaplan Estates for 16 months. He is very happy there. Management, nursing, and staff are attentive and personable, food is good, there is a very active schedule of activities and the facility is well maintained. Care for the residents is obvious throughout the organization.

The people you are going to meet are usually very, very pleasant. They are looking for a place to be to give them the services and care they need. I cannot say the food top notch; however, the people are what it is about. We have some residents that have been here 10+ years and some that are over the age of 100 that are well cared for here. This is a haven for individuals who have been through a lot but need a nice community to go to in order to receive good care and meet good people. I lived in my home for over 53 years, had to give up driving and found I was not able to do everything I used to, so I came here. The staff are wonderful and have worked here for a long time. I love the activities and fitness programs. Barbara & Lori in Activities are wonderful. It is a good facility if you are willing to accept that you are ready for care and know that not everything is always perfect on a day to day - I then recommend coming here.

The building’s design is very pleasant from the outside as well as offers 4 floors which allow wide hallways which lead to comfortably sized apartments with oversized windows. All of which is easily accessible by oversized elevators allowing multiple residents to travel with their walkers & wheelchairs. The dining rooms offer a large number of tables for several residents to enjoy 1st class menus over lunch & dinners. On special occasions the table clothes & napkins are of a festive white. The residents were able to establish friendships quickly with an equally friendly & helpful staff in support of the residents different needs. There are several social events scheduled during the months. In summary the Kaplan Estates are very unique in many aspects. Juergen Blank one time resident.

My family and I couldn’t be more grateful for the care and compassion shown by the Kaplan Estates-Legacy Memory Unit to my mother, who has Alzheimer’s. My mother was welcomed with open arms and genuine smiles. The staff truly goes above and beyond to make residents feel at home and treat each resident like family. I am genuinely in awe of the nurses and aides’ respect and kindness to all the residents. It is not an easy job, but they treat each resident with dignity and care. The facility is well maintained, and there are many activities for the residents to socialize, stay active, and enjoy life. Knowing that my mother was in such capable and loving hands gave our family peace of mind. We wholeheartedly recommend Kaplan Estates – Legacy Memory Unit.
