Communication needs improvement. All staff should be treated with respect despite job title.

My son moved in Peachtree for 6months. Peachtree changed his SSI account info to their account info and collected all SSI money although they had no right to. When you sign Peachtree documents in the beginning, you sign all rights to Peachtree. BUT, Peachtree has no rights to SSI money! My son signed himself out without me being at the discharge date and we got no copies of the documents. They stopped answering my phone calls and e-mails after he moved out. They continued collecting his SSI money even AFTER he moved out. I have SSI investigating this company. I don't know how such a thing could happen to us. We trusted Peachtree. Food choices was terrible, food was cold, he didn't receive help how to become independent like they promised, they taught him how to cope with his situation as a brain injured person, they gave no hope of becoming better mentally, he was not challenged mentally. Pretty much just follow the rules and be quiet. They held resident council but there never any positive changes. He was told "we will take notes" but they never followed up with him after the meetings. They just blew him off. I would not send anyone there.

Aside from the fact that they are committing Social Security fraud by confiscating people's SSI checks, the facility is more like a prison than a home for people with brain injuries. They acquired my son's bank account access to do an ACH to send the money to their account, every month, because SSA would have caught onto them if they had changed the payee/beneficiary. NOTE: if you are considering putting your loved one in their care, you must inform SSA that they will be institutionalized, and their SSI benefits will be suspended until they are out of this hell hole. DO NOT give them your banking information! Another resident whose mother I am in contact with has reported that they somehow gained access to his social security account and changed the bank account information so that the check went into their account instead. That is under investigation as I write this. I intend to start a report as well. As mentioned before, the food is awful and cold. Most of the 5 months my son was there, he only ate the PBJ sandwiches and snacks that I bought him, and he lost a lot of weight. They were supposed to be catering to his particular needs, but it was impossible to get him an advocate who would check in on him daily, help him take advantage of the offerings, and listen to his concerns. They only allow smoking cigarettes, but not vaping, and if you have a medical marijuana license, you still have to give it up while you're there, even though it's legal in the state. My son was not mistreated by staff, as far as I know, but neglected quite a bit, other than the nurses. He did get his medicine. The family liaison was not very responsive unless I copied her supervisor. We were lied to in the beginning about a number of things, and when I asked to see an accounting of all that was spent for his care, they could only produce 2 receipts, and one of the shopping lists showing that they halved a bunch of items with a note that said he was over budget, but he had a $300+ overage on his account! Give a disabled person a break! Only 1 creamer this month, even though they canceled the "men's outing" twice in a row. That's the outing where they go get a haircut and a beard trim (if they have enough in their budget). All in all, he was delivered back to me in decent shape, but I would not suggest anyone sending their loved one there long term if they have other options. Every resident I ever interacted with on my many visits told me that it is a complete hell on earth for them there. So sad!

It’s ashame how these patients get treated. They get their meals cold and the menu is pathetic. The staff will make fun of patients which offends me. Years ago it was a great place everyone was so nice and accommodating. I would go in and the patients would all come up and thank you for coming in. These individuals have been through a lot and the administration only cares about money. It breaks my heart to know how they are being treated. The new admin they hired is the rudest individual and doesn’t know how to handle his job, which is sad. I’m not stopping on this review if you feel good about how you treat these handicap individuals, you are one sad person. I will see to it that these friends of mine get the treatment they deserve since you don’t,

I was recently at a location where the Peach Tree staff took their residents on an outing and observed a staff member humiliating one of the disabled residents publicly. When I called to report the staff member, the director of the facility, Kyle Whelan, refused to take my call. So I emailed him and followed up 3 weeks later. No reply, not even a "Thank you for bringing this to my attention." Nothing. It makes you wonder how the staff act in private when no one's watching.
