My mother lived at Putnam Farm for almost three years. She loved it. The staff was very attentive to all of her needs, and to our needs, as well. They took very good care of her. Putnam Farms is an elegant and cheerful facility which is beautifully decorated and very clean. We felt very fortunate to have found this wonderful place for her.

The staff at Putnam Farm are outstanding. Kind, compassionate, and organized in caring for elders, they provide a safe and nurturing environment. After my father died, my mother had a difficult period facing a lot of anxiety and grief. They took care of her when I could not be there, and gave her a sense of community and connection that she needed to transition to a new phase in her life. I cannot thank the staff and leadership at Putnam enough for helping my mother, and in turn our whole family, in this challenging time.

My inlaws are currently living at Putnam Farm in assisted living, and we have had a lot of problems getting help for them. In particular, we are finding it quite dificult to track down the care manager to get answers and assistance. Some specifics... When we decided my mother-in-law needed medication management for her to take the stronger pain medicine she needed, it took about 2 weeks to get that started. During that 2 weeks, we needed to keep her on tylenol alone, and she was still in pain. We have witnessed aides able to ignore obvious sanitary issues on a few occasions. We are also disappointed in the lack of progress and personal attention to address a pressing nutritional need my mother-in-law currently has. I am giving one extra star for the quick response to our request for food delivery, the wonderful aide who so gently and carefully has helped my father-in-law back into his wheelchair from the floor on a few occasions, and the lovely aide who so carefully gives my mother-in-law her showers.

My Dad lived in the Harbor memory care section of Putnam Farm from September 2016 - January 2017 until he passed. The care he received then was exceptional! Fantastic employees and I loved everything about Putham, which is why I moved my mom from the assisted living area to the Harbor unit when she needed more assistance due to her advancing Alzheimer's. It was a completely different experience in the worst way possible and she passed away 3 months after being moved there in April 2020. Perhaps due to Covid, the staff seemed sparse. There were one or two daytime aides who were good but come night-time it was awful. I know this because I was able to stay with her overnight on a few occasions because she had fallen out of her bed in July. I did not receive a call, and somebody put her back in bed without notifying anybody - not even the nurse. The day team found her that morning, in a great deal of pain, in her bed, with a broken hip. The surgeon at Salem Hospital told me there is no way she could have gotten back into bed on her own due to the severity of the hip fracture. My poor mom had to writhe in pain for hours and nobody checked on her until the morning. I asked for an investigation from the director of Harbor and the director of Putnam, but they never got back to me with any answer, and both subsequently quit their jobs shortly after. I have requested her medical records and I have yet to receive them after 6 weeks. Please, if you value your loved ones, do not put them into Putnam Farm at Danvers, Benchmark Living.
