Wesley Enhanced Living Pennypack Park

I have represented retirement communities as an attorney for over 40 years. I can say without qualification that Wesley Pennypack is among the best that I have encountered. You can get a good sense of a facility from the feeling that you get when you visit. At Pennypack, this feeling has only been positive. At all levels from staff to maintenance, Pennypack staff present as caring and concerned. You also get a sense as to how the facility presents. Again, Wesley presents as 5 star. I first visited in the fall and admired the beautifully landscaped courtyard. It is a wonderful place to sit and visit. The facility is located next to Pennypack Park and deer from the park often wander onto the Pennypack grounds. All of this is just a stone's throw from the Roosevelt Expresswau. I have also been impressed with the level of care provided to residents. Never have a seen senior staff show the concern for level of care that I see at Wesley. Taking time to bring a resident coffee and a donut or take the resident for clothes is just remarkable caring and concern. This concern and attention carries over to support staff from the attending physician, to nursing staff to physical therapists, to social workers, to clergy. The residents are equally nice and friendly, and our family member has had no trouble making connections. The facility provides a full schedule of activities, and the staff makes an effort to involve residents in the activities. Transitioning a family member to a retirement facility is a difficult transition under the best of circumstances but everyone all the way up to the Executive Director has shown a level of concern and empathy that has helped us enormously through some rough patches. The admission of our family member required some flexibility, and Pennypack was fully accommodative. The accommodations are very nice. The apartments in the independent unit are nicely sized and well maintained. Perhaps the best recommendation is that I could live at Wesley Pennypack and be very happy.
