Wingate Residences at Melbourne

Our family member spent seven wonderful years living at Melbourne. Beautifully maintained and staffed by caring professionals, it is a terrific option for those who are independent and need minimal care. Our only word of caution is that we were not well informed regarding what to look for that indicated she "outgrew" it. Because there is no step-up option onsite (aside from Memory Care) we were repeatedly reassured that she was fine (she was not) and that it was an appropriate placement (it was not.) Families - follow your gut and believe what you see. In the later years, it is a fast progression from someone who can handle their own personal care and living space to someone who needs more assistance. Our family member is now doing very well in another living situation with much more support (she even regained some physical and cognitive abilities) but we will always be grateful for the wonderful years she spent at Melbourne!

I moved my father into Wingate a month ago. The staff has been so attentive and caring. They call me with any questions or issues, and even just to let me know he's adjusting well. Communication with them is above and beyond - they call me or return my texts nights and weekends when they're not even working. The facility is gorgeous, food is good, and the staff is amazing. Every single person. I couldn't have found a better place for my dad with Alzheimer's to live out his remaining days in peace, beauty and comfort.

My mother recently became a resident here. It was a tough transition for her, but the Wingate staff really smoothed it out for her. My father recently died, we moved her up from Florida and she's never lived in an apartment before. It was a lot for her to take in. We enrolled her in Wingate's Concierge Program for her first couple of months and that made ALL the difference. Mary Ellen was fantastic! She checked in on my mom regularly, introduced her to other residents and invited her to participate in various activities. We checked in to get updates on her progress and made suggestions about her social and mental comfort needs. Most importantly, it took a huge load off my sister and I. As anyone who is caring for elderly parents knows, there is so much to do and you feel like you have so little support. Wingate not only makes our mom feel supported, but her caregivers too!

Wingate Melbourne was the best move we could have made for our mom after our dad passed. Mom wasn't thrilled with the idea initially but this team at Wingate Melbourne takes the time to welcome and interact and not only with the residents but with my brother and I as well. It's a lot to navigate when our parents get older. The concierge service they provide is phenomenal. Such a huge help for someone new to the community. Having her set up with these caring, compassionate and just fun people to help her get settled in, meet people and encouraging her to join activities and events made the switch to assisted living so much smoother than we could have hoped. I'm glad we found Wingate Melbourne. Thank you to every single team member!!

My mother has been a resident at Wingate Residences at Melbourne Place for a little over a year now, and I can confidently say it has been a fantastic experience for her and our family. The staff at Wingate consistently go above and beyond to ensure my mom's comfort and well-being. I particularly appreciate the Concierge service. The team is incredibly caring and responsive to any requests I have - and they are fun! Being able to communicate directly with them when it's hard to reach mom is really great. This add-on is well worth it! The entire team at Wingate creates a warm and supportive environment, making it a true home for my mom. She especially enjoys the activities, outings and live music. In the past year I have noticed a huge improvement in her happiness and social life. It's such a relief to know she's always in good hands, and I'm so grateful for the peace of mind Wingate provides!
